They arrive at the Telmar castle and arrange rooms. With everyone being exhausted they decided to skip dinner and wait until tomorrow.

First thing Harper does is bathe. And she takes a long one enjoying the feeling of being clean. She throws on some sweatpants and a loose shirt and jumps in the bed but realizes quickly that sleep won't find her.

She groans sitting up and walking out of the room to see if anyone else is asleep. She finds that her body brings her right to Peter's room.

Now's as good a time as any to apologize she guesses and raises her hand bringing down a soft knock. She silently hopes he won't answer and that it will be a problem for tomorrow but that's not the case as he opens the door eyes widening slightly at the sight of Harper.

"Harp? You ok?" She moves from one foot to another awkwardly. "Can I talk to you?" he nods, stepping aside and letting her in. "Nice castle, not as nice as Cair Paravel though" he nods again.

"Are you ok?" He asks for the second time. "I don't know, I 'm confused, I want to hate you but at the same time I just want to talk to you"

"Well I know which one I prefer" He smiles leaning against the wall. She sighs, fidgeting her fingers. "Peter I-I missed you a lot"

"I'm here now aren't I?" She nods. "I'm sorry, I put your life in danger and I said all those horrible things. I didn't mean them. I promise, I would never if given the chance say those things again and I.." He stops her rambling by pulling her in a hug.

"Nothing to apologize for. Except maybe almost dying" she melts in his embrace. "Can I stay with you?" She whispers in a quiet voice. "Forever" He kisses her head and climbs into bed and she quickly burrows into his side.

"This is weird" "What is?" He asks. "I could be like your twentieth great grandma" He wrinkles his nose up. "That's weird, don't say that" She chuckles. "Told you" she starts playing with a loose strand of his shirt as he looks down at her.

"We will probably go home soon" He points out and she freezes, dropping the strand. "What? I will find you, I promise we.." "Peter I can't go back" it's his turn to freeze. "What are you talking about? Of course you can, we wi.."

"Peter even if I could I don't think I would" He sits up mad. "Listen to me" She sits up as well placing a hand on his chest.

"I have lived my whole life here, if I go back it's going to be confusing and.. Narnia is my home. I have nothing left for me back there"

"You have your parents?" She stiffens. She never told him about her parents. "No I don't" He looks at her confused. "My moms dead, my fathers a drunk. I have no one back there "

"What about me?" He asks his eyes, giving off innocence. Her face softens and she cups his cheeks. "You are the only reason I would go back" "Then I'll stay" He says quickly and she shakes her head. "No"

"I'll stay with you, we can.." She looks at him with a sad smile. "You can't stay, your family needs you" "They have each other-I need you. I want you. Only you Harp" her heart feels like she's getting stabbed over and over.

"Tell me to stay" He whispers, leaning his head against hers closing his eyes. A small tear falls down her cheek. "I cannot" "I love you" He says and she doesn't feel shocked.

Don't feel surprised. It's like even though they never admitted it they both knew.

"Don't, Peter don't do this" "I do, I-I've loved you for sixteen wonderful years. You make me happy so happy Harp. I don't want to ever be with anyone that's not you. You are all I want, all I need "

"We are just friends" She says quietly hoping that he will stop. "We aren't just friends and you know it" He says sharply.

"We belong in two different worlds, it will never work" He searches her eyes. "You don't mean that" "I do" "You don't" He says determinedly. "I do," She says sternly. So he does the only thing that will prove her wrong.

He grabs her face and kisses her. It's soft and sweet and both of them have fireworks exploding in their stomachs. She's caught off guard but quickly kisses him back.

The two kiss until they are out of breath. He pulls back, keeping their heads together. "You have no idea how long I've waited for that" He smiles wide but for once it's safe to say that Harper smiled wider.

"I've waited one thousand three hundred and sixteen years. Do I win?" She jokes and he smiles leaning back in. "Mhmm"

"Do I get a prize?" She asks, completely forgetting about their argument. He nods and kisses her again this time longer and slower as he lowers her down on the bed so he's leaning above her.

"I love you" He says with each kiss. "I love you, I love you, I love you" she closes her eyes smiling. "Pete, we can't," She whispers, remembering their conversation.

"We'll figure that out later, for now let's enjoy the time we have together" She nods agreeing and leans into his side closing her eyes.

"You can rest now" He whispers and she falls asleep to the sound of his heart beating.

Knowing for once she's safe.
