A/N Really long chapter 😬

Training went by somewhat quickly since she and the men had all slept in. "Alright go wash up and get some rest, we start again tomorrow" She announces and the men groan.

"Or we can do some more now" They immediately disperse at that. She chuckles and walks into the castle to immediately be pulled behind a pillar.

"Hi" She looks up at Peter, her cheeks still slightly flushed after hours of training.

"Hi, Pete I am absolutely disgusting right now" She says trying to push him away but he simply leans in and kisses her softly.

Harper stands on her toes and pulls him closer wrapping her arms around his neck. After he pulls away he smiles with a secret behind his eyes.

"What is it?" She asks knowing he's hiding something. "Can I pick you up tonight?" "Depends" He smiles and leans down kissing her nose.

"I'll pick you up at seven"

"Ok" "Ok" He steps back winking.

At seven Harper is sitting on her bed when a soft knock is heard. She opens the door smiling.

"Good evening my King" She curtsies knowing how much he hates it.

"Stop that, come on. We are going to miss it" "Miss what?" "You'll see" he interlocks their hands and they run through the castle giggling quietly just like the teenagers they are supposed to be without the responsibility of leading a kingdom or in Harper's case a kingdom's army.

They start walking down to the beach and Harper narrows her eyes. "Pete you can't be out here without protection"

"I have you" He says confident and she smiles and shakes her head.

"I left my weapons back in my room" "You don't need weapons" "I might if you plan on us getting attacked, you really should ha.." He stops and covers her mouth.

"No, now is the time to shut up and enjoy your evening for once. Forget I'm King, forget that you are a General. We are just Peter and Harper. Ok?" she nods somewhat hesitantly.

"Good" He reattaches their hands and stops covering her eyes. "Peter I am going to kill you" She groans annoyed and he simply smiles though she can't see. A few minutes later with Harper tripping twice and Peter apologizing he removes her hands and her mouth drops.

In front of her was a large blanket on the sand with books, candles and snacks lying out.

"Peter?" She turns to him. He was smiling sheepishly, rubbing his neck. "I-I thought we could watch the sunset together" she smiles and leans up kissing his cheek.

"I love it, thank you" the fact that he put so much effort into pulling this together for her was surprising to say the least. She takes off her shoes sitting down and Peter does the same.

"I know you would much rather have sweets so that's what I um did" she glances at him opening the basket to see pastries and a few savory items in it. "You are so sweet" She says and if possible his face grew brighter.

She scoots closer to him and puts the basket in between them. They sit there watching the sunset in happiness. "Ooh try this one" She exclaims while holding out a mini cherry pie. He takes a bite, his eyes widening.

"That's something I definitely don't miss not being home" "What no sugar?" She jokes and he nods fast. "Of course, I can barely survive as it is" she lets out a quiet laugh leaning into his side.
