Stormi

We all went out that afternoon. We rented a boat and chilled on the water until it was dark. The stars were shining on us as we were laughing on the deck while drinking wine.

Well, not all of us were laughing. Lando was in the back almost all of the time. But he was there and Max really appreciated that. He didn't want to see his best friend hurting or something.

Nobody would.

But Lando was a big boy and I guess he was handling everything like he should. He was just frustrated, in my opinion.

– I need a cigarette. I'll be right back – Lando sighed as he got up and went outside of the living area of the boat. It was a luxurious boat, might I add. We even had a little pool in it.

We all looked at him through the glass walls. He was leaning on the railing as he was looking through his pockets for the pack of his cigarettes but he couldn't find one.

And then I looked at the place he was laying at and guess what? He accidentally left his cigarettes.

– I hate when he smokes – Max sighed and hugged Laura into his side.

I bet he didn't see that Lando didn't have anything to smoke, because he left his things with us. That's why I grabbed his belongings and put them into my hoodie pocket. It were just cigarettes and lighter.

– Why? – I frowned and took a sip of my wine.

– Just because. He shouldn't do that shit, he's an athlete but I'm glad he doesn't do drugs, at least – he laughed bitterly and drank a little out of his glass.

– He can't do drugs. He would be kicked out of F1 by the doping control – I stated what I thought was obvious but Max looked at me suspiciously.

– Yeah, exactly. But he did it a few times last year anyway – Max shrugged with a soft sigh.

He did what? Was he dumb?

– Why was he willing to risk his seat for shit like that? Doping control is random, wasn't he scared? – I mumbled with a frown.

I just couldn't believe that someone would be so irresponsible.

– Wait, how do you know that it's random? Are you an F1 fan or something? – Max asked clearly intrigued.

I coughed. My throat felt sore all of a sudden so I drank my wine. Laura was looking at me with an arched brow, her face telling me to tell him the truth but I just couldn't. I was scared he would get more interested and ask more and more questions I didn't want to answer.

– Isn't it a common thing? – I shrugged and got up. – I'm going to smoke as well – I added quickly before he could dig even deeper with his suspicions.

I went out immediately and walked up slowly to Lando. The weather was amazing but we were still on the water so it was a little bit colder. My hair was flying around because of the wind but I quickly put it into the hood of a hoodie I had on.

– The sky looks beautiful here at night. So peaceful and de-stressing, don't you think, bunny? – he whispered with a voice I've never heard him speak. So soft and pure. He was looking up at the stars all the time. He didn't even flinch when I walked up to stand next to him.

Distance between us, as always.

– Yeah, those stars are working on me almost like smoking after a stressful day – I smiled softly to myself, also looking up. He was right about that, everything here was so peaceful, that you wanted to stay here forever.
