008 ; endou's birthday

in which endou celebrates his birthday
ft. inazuma eleven's 16th anniversary

"endou's turning 16 tomorrow, what do we do?" kazemaru stood at the chalkboard of the classroom as the rest of you were scattered around the room. some were standing around, sitting on a chair or leaning against the desks. you sat at the teacher's desk, with natsumi stood behind you at the window.

handa hummed, "what about a surprise party?"

"we've done that too many times," max said. "the author's getting tired of writing those sorts of things."

"then how about a normal party for captain?" kabeyama suggested.

haruna shook her head, "that's too boring for people like us."

"and not much to write about," kidou added.

natsumi sighed, "we need to stop breaking the forth wall."

"players from the ffi flew in yesterday, they're just getting adjusted to the time change so they're ready for a big game tomorrow," aki said, tapping her finger against her cheek.

you rested your chin on the back of your hand as you scanned the room. "there's just over 16 of us, we could give him 16 gifts throughout the day, then there's the game at the end of the day."

fuyuka smiled, "that could work!"

kazemaru nodded, "any objections?"

megane put his hand up.

"none? okay, cool, we'll go with that then."

aki waited outside endou's house the next day, the small gift ready in her bag. "morning, aki!" the brunet called out, waving enthusiastically as he exited his house.

"morning," aki gave him a smile as they began to walk to school. she rummaged through her bag as they entered through the gates, bringing out a small keyring.

"happy birthday, endou." aki presented a keyring with a soccer ball and a small star. "it's your first of sixteen gifts!"

his eyes sparkled as he took it from her hand, "thank you!"

"it's for your phone!" she brought out her phone, showing a small charm dangling from her phone. aki helped him attach it to his phone before parting ways to their respective shoe lockers.

"wait," endou scratched the back of his head. "first gift?"

the sibling duo of kidou and haruna were the next to approach him in the entrance of the school. the younger girl happily bounced over to him, a wide smile on her face. "happy birthday, captain!"

"happy birthday, endou," kidou greeted him with a small nod.

endou quickly slipped his indoor shoes on, "thanks, you guys!"

"here, we have your second and third gifts!" haruna held out a few differently coloured notebooks, "so you can write down all your cool hissatsus, just like your granddad!"

kidou handed him a high quality towel in plastic packaging, "it's a simple one, but useful for you."

"let's hope no body else gets me a towel," endou chuckled. "it'll be like gouenji and someoka's birthday all over again." [1]

haruna giggled at the memory of the two strikers receiving various towels for their respective birthdays. "it wouldn't surprise me if they did.."

"well, we'll see as the day goes," kidou waved as he began to walk to his class, haruna following shortly before splitting off to go to her class.
