Y/N and Jimin slipped out of the café just in time to see Taehyung and Elena turning a corner, heading down a narrow alleyway. The tension in the air was almost suffocating as they followed, keeping a safe distance.
The alley was dimly lit, with the sun setting behind the buildings, casting long shadows on the ground. Y/N's heart raced as she stayed close to the walls, trying to remain unseen. Every step felt like it could give her away, but she couldn't afford to lose them now.
"Be careful," Jimin whispered, his hand lightly touching Y/N's arm to steady her. "We can't let them know we're here."
Y/N nodded, her eyes fixed on Taehyung and Elena. They stopped at the end of the alley, where a car was parked. Elena turned to Taehyung, her expression serious, almost desperate.
"You have to trust me, Taehyung," Elena said, her voice strained. "There are things you don't understand, things I need to explain. But not here."
Taehyung crossed his arms, his face a mask of coldness. "Why should I trust you? You disappeared, leaving everything in ruins, and now you show up with more secrets?"
Elena looked pained, as if she was struggling to find the right words. "I didn't want to leave, but I was forced to. They threatened me, Taehyung. And now they're watching. If we don't act carefully, we're all in danger."
Y/N's breath caught in her throat. Who were "they"? What kind of danger was Elena talking about? Her mind raced with possibilities, each one more terrifying than the last.
Taehyung seemed to hesitate, the anger in his eyes flickering with something else—concern, perhaps. "Who's watching, Elena? What aren't you telling me?"
Elena glanced around nervously, lowering her voice. "I can't say more here. But I need you to trust me just this once. Come with me, and I'll explain everything."
Y/N felt a surge of panic. She couldn't let Taehyung go with Elena without knowing what was happening. But she also knew she couldn't reveal herself now—not when she was so close to getting answers.
As Taehyung and Elena got into the car, Jimin nudged Y/N. "We need to follow them," he whispered urgently. "This might be our only chance."
Y/N nodded, her heart pounding as they hurried back to their own car. They watched as Taehyung's car pulled out of the alley, heading toward the outskirts of town. The tension in the air was almost unbearable as they followed at a safe distance, the city lights gradually giving way to darker, more isolated roads.
The drive seemed to stretch on forever, the silence between Y/N and Jimin heavy with anticipation. Finally, Taehyung's car turned into a deserted area near an old warehouse, the kind of place where secrets were meant to stay hidden.
Y/N parked the car a safe distance away, her hands trembling slightly as she turned off the engine. "What do we do now?" she whispered, staring at the warehouse where Taehyung and Elena had disappeared.
"We wait," Jimin replied, his voice calm but serious. "We need to be patient. Whatever they're hiding, it's going to come out soon. We just have to be ready."
Y/N nodded, though her nerves were on edge. She couldn't shake the feeling that something terrible was about to happen. But she had to see this through—she had to know the truth, no matter what it cost.
Minutes felt like hours as they waited, the air thick with tension. Finally, they saw movement near the entrance of the warehouse. Taehyung and Elena emerged, their faces set with grim determination. Y/N strained to hear what they were saying, but the distance made it difficult.
