The group of men, who had been staring at Y/N, quickly averted their gaze as soon as they noticed Taehyung's intense, deathly glare. His piercing eyes made them uneasy, and without a second thought, they hurried away, sensing his possessive fury.
Y/N, still bewildered by everything that had just happened, felt the warmth of Taehyung's protective embrace. Even though she didn't fully understand his actions, she unconsciously leaned into his touch. But then, a sudden chill ran through her body, and she began to shiver uncontrollably. The rain had soaked through her clothes, and it seemed she was catching a cold.
Noticing her trembling, Taehyung sighed deeply, frustration etched across his face. He looked down at her with a mix of irritation and concern, knowing they couldn't retreat inside just yet.
"Aish, you locked the door from the inside," he muttered under his breath, realizing there was no easy way in. He glanced at the closed door and then back at Y/N, her slight shivering intensifying his worry.
Despite his usual cold demeanor, he gently adjusted the umbrella over her to shield her more from the rain, his free hand hesitating for a moment before resting softly on her back.
"Stay close, you're freezing," he said, his voice quieter this time, not as annoyed, but filled with unspoken care.
Y/N, still shivering, nodded slightly, leaning into him for warmth. Taehyung glanced around, his mind racing for a solution, but at that moment, all he could do was hold her close under the umbrella, shielding her from both the rain and the world outside.
As the rain continued to pour, the cold and exhaustion caught up to Y/N. With the steady warmth radiating from Taehyung's embrace and the rhythmic sound of rain hitting the umbrella, her body gave in. She slowly drifted into a deep, peaceful sleep, standing there in his arms.
Taehyung felt her body relax, and when he looked down, he realized she had fallen asleep. Her head rested softly against his chest, her breathing slow and steady. His usual irritation was replaced by a moment of vulnerability. His heart skipped a beat seeing her so peaceful, trusting him completely despite everything between them.
He sighed, glancing up at the locked door again, knowing they had to wait for help. But for now, standing there with her sleeping in his arms, the world outside didn't matter. Taehyung felt an odd sense of calm as he held her tighter, making sure she stayed warm. His heart, despite his stubbornness, softened at the sight of her, vulnerable and delicate.
For a moment, he stood there, not as the cold, distant man he often portrayed, but as someone who cared more than he was willing to admit. He whispered, almost to himself, "You're really something, aren't you?" then rested his chin lightly atop her head, waiting out the storm in their unexpected, quiet moment together.
As the storm finally calmed and the rain ceased, the clouds above softened, creating a tranquil, misty atmosphere. Taehyung looked down at Y/N, still asleep in his arms. Gently, he put the umbrella aside and, without waking her, scooped her up effortlessly. He walked through the wet grass of the garden, his steps careful and deliberate.
Finding a dry patch of grass under the tree, he sat down and carefully positioned her so that her back was resting against him. With his arms wrapped protectively around her, he held her close, hugging her from behind. Y/N unconsciously snuggled deeper into his embrace, her head resting against his chest.
The warmth of her body, combined with the coolness of the air after the rain, created a peaceful contrast. Taehyung leaned his chin lightly on her shoulder, watching the quiet garden as droplets of water fell from the leaves. His mind was a whirlwind of emotions—confusion, protectiveness, and something he couldn't quite place.
