Y/N sat on the edge of her bed, staring blankly at the wall. The day had passed in a blur after her conversation with Taehyung that morning. She felt drained, both physically and emotionally, unsure of what to do next. She had given him an out, but he hadn't taken it—at least not yet.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. Before she could respond, Taehyung stepped into the room, his expression serious but not as cold as it had been earlier.
"Be ready by 6 o'clock," he said, his tone curt but lacking the usual edge. "We're going to a party."
Y/N blinked, surprised by his words. She hadn't expected him to speak to her again so soon, let alone invite her somewhere. "A party?" she repeated, confused. "What kind of party?"
Taehyung avoided her gaze, his jaw tightening slightly. "Just a business event. You'll need to be there," he replied, as if that explained everything.
Y/N wanted to ask why he was suddenly including her, especially after everything that had happened, but she held her tongue. She could see that he was struggling with something, even if he wasn't ready to admit it.
"Okay," she said softly, nodding in agreement. "I'll be ready."
Taehyung gave a brief nod before turning to leave the room, but he paused at the door, glancing back at her. For a moment, it looked like he was going to say something more, but then he just shook his head and left, closing the door behind him.
As Y/N sat there, she felt a mix of emotions—confusion, apprehension, and a flicker of hope she tried to ignore. She didn't know what this party meant or why Taehyung suddenly wanted her by his side, but she knew she had to go.
With a deep breath, she got up and started getting ready, wondering what the night would bring.
Taehyung paced back and forth in the living room, glancing at the clock on the wall. It was already past 6 o'clock, and Y/N still hadn't come down. His patience was wearing thin.
With a deep sigh, he decided to go upstairs and check on her. His irritation grew with each step as he approached her room. Without knocking, he pushed the door open, ready to scold her for being late.
But the words died in his throat as soon as he saw her.
Y/N was standing in front of the mirror, her back turned to him as she struggled to zip up her dress. The lavender fabric clung to her figure, accentuating her curves in a way that made Taehyung's breath catch. Her long hair cascaded down her back in soft waves, brushing against the bare skin above the dress. The light makeup she wore highlighted her delicate features, giving her an ethereal glow.
For a moment, Taehyung was completely stunned, unable to take his eyes off her. She looked like a goddess, so effortlessly beautiful that it made him forget everything else—the anger, the resentment, even the coldness he had been holding onto for so long.
Y/N, unaware of his presence, kept fumbling with the zipper, a small frown of frustration on her face. Taehyung finally snapped out of his daze and cleared his throat, stepping further into the room.
"You're late," he said, his voice sounding harsher than he intended, though it was more out of confusion than anger.
Y/N jumped slightly, turning her head to see him standing there. Her cheeks flushed a soft pink as she realized he had been watching her. "I'm sorry," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. "I just... I couldn't reach the zipper."
Taehyung hesitated for a moment before stepping closer. "Let me help," he said, his tone softening as he reached out to take hold of the zipper.
His fingers brushed against her skin as he carefully pulled the zipper up, and Y/N shivered at the unexpected contact. Taehyung could feel the warmth of her skin under his touch, and for a brief moment, he forgot why he had been so angry with her in the first place.
