The next morning, the air in the house was thick with tension. Y/N woke up with a clear plan in her mind—she had to gather proof and confront the truth head-on. She got ready and mentally prepared herself for the day. As she came downstairs, Taehyung was already at the dining table, sipping his coffee, his expression unreadable.
"Good morning," Y/N said softly, unsure if she should even try to break the silence.
Taehyung didn't respond, his focus still on his coffee. But she could tell he was listening. His posture was rigid, his jaw clenched as if he was still processing last night's conversation.
Y/N decided not to push him. She quickly finished her breakfast and gathered her things. She had already texted Jimin, letting him know about her plan. Together, they were going to revisit the wedding hall, where it all started, and track down more evidence. She had a feeling that Elena's actions and her sudden reappearance were key to all of this.
Before she left the house, she turned to Taehyung, who was now standing by the kitchen counter, scrolling through his phone.
"I'm going out," she said, her voice steady. "I'll be back later."
Taehyung looked up briefly, giving her a curt nod but saying nothing. His silence was heavy, but Y/N didn't let it affect her. She knew she had to focus.
At the Wedding Hall:
Y/N met Jimin at the entrance of the old, now-abandoned wedding hall. It was strange to be back at the place where everything had started to go wrong. The hall was eerily quiet, with the once-festive decorations now faded and lifeless.
Jimin greeted her with a reassuring smile. "Ready?" he asked.
Y/N nodded, her heart pounding with both fear and determination. "Yeah. Let's do this."
Together, they walked through the hall, examining every detail, looking for something—anything—that could explain Elena's disappearance and the sudden turn of events.
They entered the bridal room, and Y/N's breath caught. Memories of that day came flooding back. Elena had been nervous but excited, and Y/N had been happy for her sister. But something had gone wrong, something she couldn't yet figure out.
Jimin started scanning the room for clues while Y/N stood there, lost in thought.
As Jimin rummaged through the drawers and cabinets, Y/N noticed a small corner of fabric peeking out from behind one of the couches. She walked over and pulled it out—a torn piece of a dress. Elena's dress.
"Jimin," she called out, holding the fabric up.
Jimin's eyes widened as he walked over. "This... this could be something."
He placed the fabric in a plastic evidence bag, his expression growing more serious. "This might help. I'll analyze it, and we'll see if there's any connection to Elena's disappearance."
Y/N nodded, feeling a flicker of hope. It wasn't much, but it was a start.
Back at Home:
Y/N returned home later that evening, exhausted but determined. She found Taehyung in the living room, staring out the window. He glanced at her when she entered but said nothing.
She approached him, standing a few feet away. "I went to the wedding hall today. With Jimin."
Taehyung's expression darkened at the mention of Jimin, but he stayed quiet, waiting for her to continue.
"We found something—a torn piece of Elena's dress. Jimin is analyzing it to see if it leads to anything."
Taehyung's jaw clenched, but there was a flicker of doubt in his eyes. He looked away, clearly conflicted.
