Taehyung and Y/N sat at a small, round table near the edge of the party. The flickering candlelight cast soft shadows across their faces, creating a somewhat intimate atmosphere. Despite the lively crowd around them, an uneasy silence hung between them.

Taehyung found himself unable to look away from Y/N. His eyes traced the delicate features of her face, lingering on her long lashes that fluttered every time she blinked, her soft lips, and the strands of her black hair that had slipped from her elegant bridal bun, framing her face. The way the light caught in her hair, highlighting its glossy texture, captivated him.

He noticed how Y/N was trying to avoid his gaze, her eyes darting around the room as if searching for something—anything—to focus on other than him. She seemed nervous, uncomfortable even, but Taehyung couldn't stop staring. The sight of her like this, looking so beautiful and yet so distant, stirred something within him that he couldn't quite identify.

Y/N, feeling the intensity of his gaze, shifted in her seat, her hands fidgeting with the napkin in her lap. She didn't know what to say or how to act. The way Taehyung was looking at her made her heart race, but she was also confused. His behavior was so unpredictable; one moment, he was cold and distant, and the next, he was looking at her as if she was the only person in the room.

Taehyung's mind was a mess of thoughts. He couldn't deny how beautiful she looked tonight, but every time he found himself softening, he reminded himself of the pain and betrayal he felt. Yet, as much as he tried to hold onto his anger, his gaze kept drifting back to her, drawn to her in a way that frustrated him.

Finally, Y/N glanced at him, catching his eyes. For a brief moment, their gazes locked, and the world seemed to fall away. But as quickly as it happened, Y/N broke the eye contact, looking down at her hands, unsure of what to make of the moment.

Taehyung exhaled sharply, tearing his gaze away from her and trying to shake off the strange feeling that had settled over him. He was frustrated—frustrated with her, with himself, and with the confusing emotions that he couldn't quite control. He took a sip of his drink, hoping to steady his thoughts, but his eyes kept wandering back to her, betraying the turmoil inside.

As Y/N continued to glance around the room, a waiter approached their table with two glasses of refreshing juice. The waiter politely handed one glass to Y/N, and as she reached out to take it, her hand accidentally brushed against his. The touch was brief, but it didn't escape Taehyung's notice.

A flicker of something dark crossed Taehyung's expression. His eyes narrowed as he watched the exchange, a wave of jealousy washing over him. Without a word, he quickly reached out and took the glass from Y/N's hand before she could even lift it to her lips. His movements were sharp, almost possessive, as he downed the drink in one go, his gaze never leaving hers.

Y/N was startled by his sudden action, her eyes widening in surprise. Before she could react, Taehyung grabbed the second glass from the waiter's tray and handed it to her, his jaw clenched. His expression was cold and controlled, but there was an unmistakable intensity in his eyes.

"Here," he said curtly, his voice low and authoritative as he pushed the glass into her hand.

The waiter, sensing the tension, gave a quick nod and hurried away, leaving the two of them alone once again.

Y/N took the glass, her hand trembling slightly as she brought it to her lips. She didn't understand why Taehyung was acting this way, but she could feel the weight of his emotions bearing down on her. The room around them seemed to fade into the background as she sipped the juice, her heart pounding in her chest.

Taehyung sat back in his chair, still seething with an anger he couldn't quite explain. He hated the way seeing her hand brush against another man's affected him, how it brought out a side of him that he didn't recognize. But more than anything, he hated how much he cared.
