Sun To Me
THE WEEK HAD passed and it was finally time for her real life to come back to her. The idea of being back at her desk made her anxious, knowing that what she had felt the last few days was going to fade and she may never feel good again.
"I'm telling you to park to the right," Connie grumbled. Aiden rolled his eyes. "This is why I don't fly." He stated, she huffed.
"You don't fly because you're cheap and like cars." She teased him, and he shrugged. "Saying that like it's a bad thing." He says.
"I uploaded footage from THOR." Ryan leaned forward with an iPad in hand, they continued to navigate airport traffic. "I may have dropped him when you told me not to." He says
"I'm not mad, that is something I would do." Connie smiled, and he leaned back into his seat. "So how is Tyler, after everything?" Aiden wondered.
"Uh, good I think, we haven't talked about us or what will happen." She tells him, and he shakes his head. "You can't ghost him, he is a good guy." He reminds her.
"Not to mention you kissed him and stole his truck," Ryan mumbled, a crunch coming from his chip bag. She looked over her shoulder at him, her brow raised. "What I'm invested." He says.
"For the record, Kate stole the truck, I was merely a passenger." Connie corrected them both. She looked down at her phone, maps open as Aiden finally pulled up to the curb of Will Rogers Airport.
She looked up, the back of a white ram truck dented from hail, and in front of, a red Dodge truck with the words, 𝑺𝒆𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒊𝒏 𝑯𝒂𝒊𝒍. Connie licked her lips, seeing him arguing with an airport official.
"I will make this quick, then we have to get going," Connie says, unclicking her belt. She stepped out, wearing jeans and boots, a grey vintage Neil Young tanktop with her denim patched shirt. A far cry from her uptight style from a few days ago.
Kate looked over Javi's shoulders, smiling excited to see her. She patted him on the shoulder, walking over. He half waved to her, kind of wishing the both of them had gotten to know each other better.
"So you heading back to New York?" Connie wondered, she shrugged. "Look's like it, what about you?" She wonders.
"Oh, I think I may have a change of plans." She says, looking over to the cowboy talking with the man in the vest. Kate nodded.
"If you ever come back, I know a place in the east to chase in." She smirked. Kate grinned, holding her bag close to herself. "To go chasing with you, I'm all in." She stated.
"Damn straight." Connie nodded, and she inhaled. "Would it be weird to ask if I can hug you?" She wondered. Kate playfully rolled her eyes.
"Not at all weirdo," Kate says, side-hugging her. Connie laughed, their height difference notable as she brought her arm around her shoulder. Even after everything that had happened, she was glad to call her a friend.
