Rain Is A Good Thing
CONNIE STOOD on the opposite side of Kate watching the laptop screen. It animated a tornado while demonstrating the mixture of her friend's experiment. She smiled impressed, she had never thought of anything like this before. The mere idea of disrupting the thing she had spent her whole life chasing, made her heart pound and her stomach twist into knots.
"So this is an EF1, perfect conditions." Tyler lists. He clicked the space key. "Run your experiment, see if it works." He tells Kate, and she nods.
"Okay so 1500 kilos of polymer, absorbing 300 times its weight," Kate spoke out, typing into the computer.
"And 450, 000 kilo perception loaded into our water-filled polymer being shot into the updraft to set it off." He says typing the numbers. Connie's eyes squinted watching it start to slow.
"The wind is reducing." She comments. Kate nodded her head in agreement. "Look at that." She says, watching the numbers of the updraft start to drop.
"It's slowing the updraft." She and Tyler say in unison. She glanced up at him, he smirked looking at the laptop.
"Kate...in theory, this should have worked," Tyler tells her. Kate smirked at his comment, looking at him. "In theory." She agreed, looking back at the screen."But it wasn't an EF1 one that day." She reminds them. Connie sighed crossing her arms, watching the laptop screen.
"We never had a chance," Kate says, defeated. "You want one?" Tyler asked, looking down at her.
Kate smirked at his offer. She glanced at the girl next to her. Both of them stared, as they waited for her response.
"I go where you go." Connie agreed. Kate smiled at her eagerness to help, the goosebumps running down her arms, excitement.

THE RED TRUCK raced down the dirt road. Connie willingly took the backseat, letting Kate take the passenger seat. Mainly because she was only in the cab of the truck because of her experiment it only felt right she took it.
"What is all this for?" Kate wonders, looking around the back. Connie looked down at her iPad, looking at the radar. "Wait, what are you touching back there? Stop." Tyler says.
Connie raised her brow at Kate's curiosity, it was like a little kid with ADHD. She chuckled watching her look all around.
"You have a lot of stuff in here," Kate comments, pulling the vanity down. "Yeah, that's.....that's a mirror." He says annoyed as she flips it back up.
Kate opened the glovebox, and photos of Tyler in various locations fell out, his signature on all of them. Connie leaned forward, smiling.
"Oh god," Kate says. Connie laughed shaking her head. "Color me unsurprised." She leans back. and Kate slammed it close.
