16- you and i

(Char's pov)
A couple of weeks had passed since me and Mia got engaged, it had all felt like a dream. I was back at work and was thriving, the girls were still with their dad most of the time but that seemed to work for them so we didn't want to disturb their routine but whenever they were with us lia would ask Mia if she could give her a little brother, she was adamant that she wanted a brother and not another sister. Neither of us had the heart to tell her that wasn't possible. As the weeks passed by it started to get closer to the date and we had nothing planned. Mia could tell that I was stressed, so she called Marjorie and got me Thursday and Friday off so I wasn't under to much pressure. "Baby what's going on in that pretty head of yours huh" I hear Mia speak softly as she runs her fingers through my hair. "Oh nothing I'm just stressed about the wedding. We haven't planned anything" I speak softly. "Well baby let's start planning, I've already had some ideas and I've got a surprise planned for the big day already"

"Well what have you been thinking about then, I know you said it's whatever I want but it's your day too" I asked her. "Well first off I was thinking Reece for my man of honour and autumn as a bridesmaid." The redhead smiled as she finally had the bond with the siblings she always dreamed about. "Well that works perfect because I want Marjorie as my maid of honour and Carly as my bridesmaid, And I have one question" "go on baby what is it?" She looks into my eyes and doesn't take her gaze away. "Well I was thinking Ellie and Lia could be our flower girls, ever since they were flower girls for Marjorie and Reece they keep asking if they can do it again and show u how good they did, but it's up to you" I sit there waiting for her response when she says "that was what I was going to say next, I wanted the girls the be apart of the day because as much as it's about us it's also about them. This is a big change for them and I want nothing more than to include them" I can feel the smile creeping onto my face as I'm in awe of how much love Mia has for my girls.

"Next thing then, venue. Do you have any idea of where you might want it?" She asks trying to figure out what style I wanted. "Well there's this lake my dad used to take me to all the time and there's this gorgeous barn next to it and I've always loved it" I whisper confidently. "Wait is that the river down near the docks?" "Yeah why do you know it?" I asked genuinely curious. "Me Reece, aut and all our friends used to go camping down there every summer and I always said to autumn if I was to ever get married it would be in that barn!" And with that she pulled me into a hug whispering I love you in my ear before she connected her lips to mine. We stay just talking eachother in for a few seconds before I pull apart saying we need to carry on planning if she wanted to speak to Marjorie, Reece, aut and Carly today, and with that she sits back up as has a sort of confused and scared look on her face.

"Baby what's wrong you moods changed all of a sudden" I ask her softly. "I didn't want to bring this up because I don't know how your going to react to it, but when it comes to walking down the aisle what do you want to do? I know for Me, I have always known I wanted to walk down myself" she whispers the last part unsure on how I was feeling. "I was actually wanting to talk about this. If you're alright with it, I would like to ask Reece to walk me. After my dad passed I always thought it would be my brother or my mum but we know how they feel and i guess Reece has always felt like my brother" "sweetheart that's perfectly fine we can ask him when we head down in a minute then we can finish planning tomorrow"

Me and Mia get off the couch and we head up to the bedroom to start getting ready to go and ask the most important people in our lives to join us on the biggest day of our lives. I start on my makeup while Mia starts to get dressed, I can't help but admire how good she looks threw the mirror and question how I got so lucky to call her mine. She comes over and sits on my lap I can't help but giggle while saying "if you want me to get ready then you will have to move off my lap darling" "Awh don't be like that char, I saw u eyeing me up through the mirror. I know you want me" she says in the tone I normally can't resist but this time I manage to resist and say "I do want you Amelia but not right now. I want to focus on asking people but you better be prepared for when we get home" I start to tease her by pulling at the waist of her leather shorts and letting my fingers trace the top of her underwear. I push her off me and she falls to the ground, I started giggling again before finishing my makeup and getting changed. We start by going to see Marjorie autumn and Carly.

We wonder down the corridor to where the office was, Mia pushes the door open and they both look up at us before Marjorie starts to say "I thought you wasn't working today? Why are you here my loves" "well I have something to ask autumn and char has something to ask u marj" Mia says with the biggest grin plastered across her face. I give Mia a nod for her to go first and that's when she says. "Aut, your like the little sister I never had, and with the biggest day of my life approaching soon I wanted to ask you if you'll be my bridesmaid?" "Mia I would love to be by your side on ur wedding day" aut says while trying to keep her cool but eventually she crumbles and she pulls Mia in for a hug. While they are hugging I turn to Marjorie who was already in bits and say "Marjorie I don't know how to follow that but you are my oldest friend and you are basically family at this point but I'd love nothing more than for you to be my maid of honour if you would" and with that her cry's turn into sobs as she pulls me in for a hug while saying "oh of course my love it would be my greatest blessing to be there for you" we sit just talking for about 10 minutes when I look over at the clock and realise that Carly will be on her break now so we say bye to Marjorie and autumn and head up to the staff room.

"Awh hey Mialotte I thought you wasn't working today" she shouts as she runs over to hug me which I graciously accept. "I'm not working today I came to ask you a question" "shoot" she says in her bubbly voice. "Well as you know me and mia are getting married soon and as you are my best friend in the nursery I wanted to know if you would be my bridesmaid?" "OMG ITS ABOUT TIME! IVE BEEN PLANNING THIS SINCE YOU GOT BACK TOGETHER" me and Mia both start to laugh and that's when mia says "so I take it that's a yes then?" "Uhmmm ofccc!" She starts to ask us a million questions about the wedding in which we can only answer a few before we say our goodbyes and start to head to Reece's nursery.

As we are driving over to Reece's nursery, mias hand is resting on my thigh while her thumb rubs the inside. I lean over to the radio and "You & I- one direction" starts to play From her Spotify. That's when she looks over at me and starts screaming the lyrics as loud as she can. I grab my phone and start to record and that's when it hits me. This is our wedding song.

We finally pull up at Reece's nursery, we get out and head to his office. Reece greets us and asks if everything is okay and that's when Mia give me the go ahead to ask him first. "I had a question. You obviously know about my dad but if I'm being honest I don't think it would feel right to walk by myself, and I guess I've always seen you as more of a brother to me" I waffle on before I finally get to what I wanted to say. "What I'm trying to say is would you be willing to walk me down the aisle?" The room is silent for a minute until Mia nods at Reece and he gets up and hugs char "oh char I would love that. Thank you" he says through his sniffles. "I've also got something to ask you, I guess you have always been a brother to me and you know I'm not one to break a promise, so as little 7 year old me promised just after my dad ran off, will you be my man of honour?" He breaks down in tears. "You remember that?" He whispers. "Of course I did that night sat in my room with my best friend being the only comfort I had as mum was drunk trying to chase after dad" but before he could answer her question a familiar voice appeared from the doorway.

"Well this must be little miss perfect Charlotte."
