PROMISE IN TEARS
Sunday, September 14th, 1980
The sun cast a warm glow over the Seoul as Lisa and Jeongguk stood at the doorway of their new house in the neighborhood.
Boxes were scattered around the living room, filled with their belongings, while Mrs. Lee efficiently directed the movers.
Jeongguk looked around, taking in the space that would now be their home. "It feels different already," he said, his voice carrying a hint of excitement.
Lisa smiled, glancing over at him. "It's going to take some time to get used to everything, but I'm happy we're here."
Mrs. Lee approached, wiping her brow with a handkerchief. "I've arranged everything to make the move easier. You two focus on settling in. If you need anything, just let me know."
"Thank you, Mrs. Lee," Lisa said warmly.
As Mrs. Lee began to organize the kitchen items, Jeongguk and Lisa started unpacking the boxes in the living room.
They worked side by side, laughing and chatting about their plans for the future.
Jeongguk picked up a photo frame from one of the boxes and looked at Lisa. "This picture will go here," he said, placing it on the mantelpiece.
Lisa nodded in agreement, her eyes twinkling with happiness. "Perfect spot."
They continued arranging their belongings, occasionally pausing to take in their surroundings. The house slowly began to feel like home.
Later, as the last box was unpacked and the furniture was in place, Lisa and Jeongguk took a moment to sit on the sofa, their work completed.
"It's been a long day, but it was worth it," Jeongguk said, wrapping his arm around Lisa. "I'm really happy to be here with you."
Lisa rested her head on his shoulder, feeling a deep contentment. "Me too. I'm excited about everything to come."
They sat in comfortable silence, enjoying the quiet and the warmth of their new home.
After a while, their eyes were drawn to the large wedding frame hanging on the wall.
The photograph captured one of the happiest moments of their lives. In the picture, Lisa and Jeongguk stood side by side, their smiles wide and genuine.
Next to Jeongguk stood Yoonseok, his face beaming with pride, while Eunwoo stood nearby, holding his son, Eunseo, who was gazing curiously at the camera.
On Lisa's side, her mother stood with a gentle smile, and Rosé, holding her daughter, Eunbyul.
As they looked at the photo, Lisa felt a rush of emotion while Jeongguk's eyes softening as he gazed at the picture.
