"Rush into everything?" She repeated, her voice lowering but no less intense. "You know what? I am not gonna move an inch forward now."
"Haseena, enough!" Misha pulled her back, saying it sternly.
"Kya matlab hai aapka?" Karishma asked desperately.
"Kuch nahi." Haseena wiped her tears, shoved the ring box back in her pocket, and stormed out of the door, angry and hurt, followed by Misha.
Karishma wasn't ready for the bombardment of questions. So she, too, left the house and rode her bike somewhere.
Haseena got inside Misha's car, and the latter simply drove away without asking any questions. The occasional sound of Haseena's sniffs was echoing in the car. Her heart was sinking, but she didn't choose to say anything and decided to give her some space to cool down. She made Haseena comfortable in her room, gave her the tissue box, and went outside to make coffee for her.
The pain of tonight gnawed at her, her mind replaying every moment of the argument and every word that had been said. Misha stepped inside with the coffee and handed the cup to her. Haseena was gazing at the ring she was holding. Misha took out a pair of clothes for her to change and kept them next to her. "Change Karlo, I'll be back."
A few minutes later, she came back to see her. Haseena had changed her clothes and was having coffee. "Thank God, you're in your senses." She sighed, sitting beside her.
Haseena was still sobbing. Misha placed her hand on her shoulder, and she just hugged her, sobbing profusely. She began to delicately caress Haseena's head, running her fingers through her hair in a soothing, rhythmic motion.
Karishma was going wherever her bike was taking her. Tonight's conversation was echoing in her head, causing her deep pain. The roads were empty, offering her an escape from the storm of feelings raging inside her. But no matter how fast she went, she couldn't escape the thoughts that swirled in her mind. Additionally, her tears were blurring the way ahead for her. She found herself at the edge of the city, the lights fading behind her as she pulled over. She realized that she was near Haseena's cottage so she just aimlessly drove there. She unlocked the door, as she had the keys and stepped inside. It was not as decorated as it was the last time she visited. Maybe because Haseena had made all the prior arrangements.
She just sunk down on the sofa in the living room and closed her eyes. But the memories they made in this house started to flash in her mind. Their long, deep talk, the small kiss, the cuddle. As she was about to get lost in them, tonight's argument returned to her mind.
"So jaao Haseena, kal big day hai na?" Misha said to her. Haseena just nodded. She recieved a message from the caretaker of her cottage that Karishma was there. She called him and asked him to arrange basic things if she was going to stay there tonight.

The next day, Karishma reached home early in the morning. Her eyes were swollen and red. She was silently moving towards the room when Shaba caught her. "Karishma? Kahan thi?"
"Kuch kaam tha, ab thana jaa rahe hain ready hokar." She said in one go.
"Nashta karogi?" She asked.
"Bhookh nahi hai."
"Jaldi se ready ho jaao, hum tumhare liye nashta bana dete hain." Shaba insisted. Karishma didn't say anything and moved into her room. As she came out of the bathroom, she found Haseena entering the room. They had a little eye contact before Haseena walked into the bathroom and closed the door. Karishma, too, moved out of the room. Haseena's eyes were puffy, too. It was her first day as the DSP of the city and Karishma wanted to wish her luck. She wanted to make it special but now they're not even talking to each other.
