"Kab tak khaali karna hai aapko aapka quarter?" Haseena asked as they were heading towards Karishma's police quarter after duty.

Karishma glanced at her once and said, while concentrating on the road, "Parso."

"Ohh," Haseena nodded. "Kaafi saari memories hongi aapki vahan par?"

"Aise kuch khaas toh nahi, akele rehte thy, aate thy, khakar so jaate thy."

"Itne dino mein kabhi aayi hain aap yahan?"

"Shayad ek baar aaye hain." She halted the jeep and removed her seatbelt. They walked silently, and Karishma unlocked the door of her quarter. She turned on the lights in the hall. It was a small place, with a kitchen on the left and a room in front.

They coughed because it was too dirty. "Hum kabhi aapke police quarter nahi aaye thy aur aap seedha humare ghar rehne aa gayi thi," Haseena said, looking around as she walked past her.

"Hum kabhi aapse dosti nahi kiye thy aur aap seedha humein girlfriend bana li thi," Karishma replied in a sarcastic manner, which made Haseena silent.

"Haan haan thik hai," she said. "Bahot jawab dene lagi hain," she mumbled under her breath.

Karishma opened the door of her room and entered inside. As she looked at the mess, she said, "Yahan mat aaiye varna aapko heart attack aa jaayega"

"Its okay Karishma Singh, humein pata hai yeh ghar kaafi dino se band hai isliye kaafi ganda ho gaya hai, varna aap ke rehte kahin saaf safai ki kami ho sakti hai bhala?" Haseena said with a naughty grin, looking at Karishma with the corner of her eyes.

"Chup rahiye aap!" Karishma chided. Haseena chuckled and barged inside the room.

"Jo bhi yahan rehne aayega use bahot mehnat karni padegi" She said. "Btw, humein bedsheets ki zarurat hai abhi?" She asked as Karishma opened the small almirah.

She took out two bedsheets and pillow covers and handed them to Haseena. "Yahan pe kaahe chhodenge bataiye? Humara samaan hai" Saying this and getting offended, she moved to the bedside rack and picked up the leftover novels and handed them to Haseena.

"Okay, ma'am," Haseena sighed and followed her around.

"Wall clock!" Haseena's mouth was wide open as she said that. Karishma jumped on a chair. "Karishma Singh, what I think is, what if the apartment lost the sense of time until the next person moved in? Let's just keep the clock as it is! What say?" Haseena tried to explain it to her.

"Yeh kaa bol rahi hain aap? Aur.. aur.. Its not even working anymore," Karishma said out of confusion.

"Exactly!" Haseena said loudly, "Humara matlab hai, we already have a beautiful wall clock in our room, still, " She said, "Still, aapko change karna toh hum naya khareed sakte hain. How about we make our first purchase together a wall clock? It would be a special way to start our journey as..as girlfriends!" Haseena tried to convince her.

Karishma's confused face turned into a smiling one. "Aww!" She encircled her arms around her neck. "Thik hai phir hum kal hi chalte hain" she said excitedly.

"Yes, dear," Haseena smiled. "Humne aur kuch bhi socha hai"

"Kahiye?"

"Hum na ek kaam karte hain, saamaan collect karne ki jagah baatein karte hain... aap apne quarter ki kuch stories bataiye na"

"Pata hai, subah hum is bed mein se uthte thy," She pointed towards the bed behind Haseena, "phir yahan se uniform nikaalte thy," She pointed towards her almirah on the left and said, "aur phir is bathroom mein nahate thy" She pointed towards the bathroom door behind herself. "Phir ready hokar kitchen mein coffee/chai and breakfast, then lunch banate thy. Phir thaane chale jaate thy, wapis aake change karte thy, khana khate thy and good night! Now if you please excuse me," She removed her arms and walked out of the room towards the kitchen.
