"Gajab" The word came from Karishma's mouth as she entered her room later in the evening. "Yeh maddam sir.." She unbuckled her belt. "Saara schedule kharab karke rakha hai, ghar par hain toh ka matlab jab mann kare so jaao bhaiya." She shook her head and walked into the bathroom. She was thinking about her meeting with Misha when she came out. How protective she was about Haseena! Karishma too had one good friend in college, but she lost her because of Shorya. She always used to warn Karishma about how big a red flag Shorya was. But, ultimately, life goes on.
Sleeping Haseena is Karishma's new favorite view. Fairly speaking, all of Haseena is what Karishma adores. If it is more fair to speak, then Karishma has always been adoring her maddam sir, consciously or unconsciously. The way her eyelashes rested gently against her cheeks, the faint rise and fall of her chest with each breath—it was all so mesmerizing.
Karishma sat on the edge of the bed, careful not to make a sound. She leaned in slightly, her eyes tracing the contours of Haseena's face. In this quiet, intimate moment, she could see every detail—the curve of her jaw, the faint freckles scattered across her nose, the gentle slope of her neck. She reached out, her fingers hovering just above Haseena's cheek, as if afraid to break the spell. Finally, she allowed herself to touch, gently brushing a stray lock of hair away from Haseena's face.
Haseena opened her eyes slowly. The after sleep glow scattered all across her face. She blinked a few times, the haze of sleep gradually lifting. She took a deep breath, the comforting scent of lavender and Karishma's subtle fragrance filling her senses.
"Subah ho gayi kya?" She murmered, her voice husky from sleep.
Already, Karishma's fingers were running over her cheek, giving her a ticklish sensation and evoking a range of emotions. "Bilkul, jaldi se naha kar aaiye" Karishma replied.
Haseena gently encircled her arms around Karishma's waist, drawing her closer with a tender, irresistible pull. "Aise khubsoorat nazare ke saath uthne ki aadat daal lein hum?" She asked softly, staring into Karishma's eyes.
"Hum bhi" Karishma said.
"Ohhhoo, Inspector Karishma Singh is learning to be romantic! Huh?" Haseena said it playfully, and Karishma twisted her lips in response.
"Aisa soti hain aap ki pata hi nahi hai subah ho rahi hai ya shaam? Aur yeh kya kisi bhi waqt soye jaa rahi hain?" Karishma asked her.
"Dekhiye Karishma madam, hum jab bed rest pe hain toh bed pe rest hi karenge na... Day after tomorrow, I will be joining my duty back, and then you'll see how it goes in the station," Haseena gave her a wink.
"Acchha Ji?"
"Haan Ji! By the way, kya kamaal ka khwaab dekh rahe thy hum"
"Aisa kya? Kya tha bataiye na?"
A playful grin spread across her face. "Well, humne dekha ki hum dono, sirrff hum dono, beach pe hain. The sun was setting, and we were dancing on the sand. Aur aapne ek funny Hawaiian shirt pehen kar rakhi hai aur hum apni hasi rok nahi paa rahe hain"
Karishma laughed warmly. "Hawaiian shirt? Tab toh hum ekdum bhaukaal lag rahe honge. Hai na?"
"Ofcourse!" Haseena agreed, her grin widening. "Even with the oversized sunglasses and straw hat."
Karishma shook her head, her laughter subsiding into a fond smile. "Aapko accha lagta hai toh hum kuch bhi pehnne ko taiyar hai" she said with a playful wink.
"Of-fo! Kitni romantic baatein?" Haseena pulled her more, their foreheads almost touching. They gazed into each other's eyes. Haseena's one hand reached up to her neck as her fingers gently caressed the nape of Karishma's neck, sending shivers down her spine. Karishma cupped Haseena's face in her hands, her thumbs tracing delicate patterns on her cheeks.
