Rani's POV
???: Rani, get up
I open my eyes to see Baliyo's blue eyes looking at me.
Rani: Morning, Baliyo
Baliyo: Up or we'll be late for school and today... Makucha is coming.
Rani: You don't have to worry, I know you hate him.
Baliyo leaves. I take a bath and wear my favourite dress. An off-shoulder purple dress with glittery grey hearts all over it. It also wear a beautiful purple jacket and glittery blue flats. I brush my long hair and put on a hair clip. My grandmother gave me all of these. I think I still remember that day.
FLASHBACK
No one's POV
Rani is having sword training with her father in a beautiful garden. They are having a friendly duel. With much effort, Rani is able to knock the sword out of her father's hand.
Rani: I win
Sahasi: Great job sweetheart.
Rani: Still wish swords were now more used than guns. I would easily beat anyone with threaten any of you
???: It's okay sweetie.
Rani turns to see her grandmother, Janna. She is in a beautiful long flowing golden dress and a silver necklace is on her neck.
Rani: Grandma
Rani rushes to her.
Janna: How is my little granddaughter ?
Rani: I'm good.
Janna: That's good to know. Anyways, I have a gift for you.
Saying that, Janna takes a shiny box from one of the men behind her and opens it, revealing the dress, jacket, flats and silver hair clip.
Rani: These are beautiful
Janna: You deserve them, you got straight As last year, you volunteered to help with the construction of the new hospital and above all you're a good person.
Rani: That means a lot to me.
Janna: Are you going to try them on or?

Rani's POV
I really miss both of them and mum. That stupid Thayer. How did mum amd dad trust him in the first place.
I grab my bags and go downstairs.
Rani: Morning uncle, Morning Aunt
Nirmala: Morning Princess, did you sleep well
Rani: Yeah
After eating breakfast, Surak drops us to school. There I separate with Baliyo. I head to biology class and sit next to Fuli.
Fuli: Hey Rani. I love your outfit
Rani: Thanks
Mrs. Twiga enters and starts teaching.
Time skip
Surak comes to pick us up.
Surak: So your Aunt and I are going somewhere so it's just you guys and Makucha in the house.
Then I remember, Kion is coming over .
Rani: Uncle, is it okay if a friend of mine comes over
Surak: Sure
It starts to rain when we reach home. Makucha is already in the house.
Rani: Hey Makucha
Makucha: Hello
Baliyo ignores Makucha and goes to his room. I go to mine. Why does Baliyo not trust Makucha? What can he feel about him that the rest of us can? I don't feel like changing so I continue to wear the dress. I go to the living room and wait for Kion. Baliyo joins me. After some time, Kion enters.
Kion: Hey Rani ,hey Baliyo
Rani and Baliyo: Hi Kion
Kion: Hi
Makucha just nods. This is getting awkward. Kion sits next to me and we and Baliyo talk for a really, really long time. It's still raining outside.
Makucha: I'll be going upstairs
Rani: Okay
Makucha leaves.
Baliyo: I'll be going upstairs too, I've got to do my homework.
Baliyo also leaves. It's just the two of us. Just then, Kion spots the piano.
Kion: You play piano?
Rani: Yeah, I'm still learning but I can play a few songs. Do you wanna hear?
Kion: I'd love to
I go over to the piano and play one of my songs.
Kion: That was amazing
Rani: Thanks but I have so much to learn.
Then I remember I've got to feed Ginger. How did I forget?
Rani: Excuse me one moment
Kion: Sure
Kion's POV
Rani goes upstairs. Her piano skill are amazing, maybe one time, I'll show her my guitar skills. After some time, Rani returns with a cute kitten with Ginger fur in her hands.
Kion: Hey Rani, is that the cat you were telling me about? Ginger?
Rani: Yes. Do you want to hold him?
I nod. She gently hands me Ginger and I gotta admit, he is so cute and soft too. Rani goes into the kitchen to prepare it something to eat. It's still raining and if it doesn't stop, I'll have to spend the night here. I don't know why but I kinda wish it would keep on raining.
No one's POV
Rani is pouring the cat food into Ginger's bowl when she gets a call. She checks and it's from an unknown number, she picks it.
Rani: Hello?
???: Rani, is that you?
Rani: Yes. Who are you ?
???: It's your mum. I am so happy to hear from you, it's been so long.
Rani: Mum, I thought it was dangerous to...
???: I know, I just miss you ,I couldn't help myself. I miss Surak, Nirmala and Baliyo. How are you?
Rani: I'm good. What are you, dad and grandma?
???: We're good. Listen, after this call you have you delete this number. We don't want him to be tracking you down. Be careful with those you trust. Please stay safe, when this is over, you're coming back home. Bye for now, I love you.
Rani: I love you too
Rani's mum hang the phone and Rani sighs. It had sure been one rainy day.
