Kovu's POV
I slam the front door shut behind me. School is always tiring. I drop my backpack on the couch and sit down, taking off my shoes. Vitani enters the house next. The house is quiet. Mum is probably at work and Nuka is out with his girlfriend, Dotty.
Vitani: School was exhausting today. A group of stuck-up brats call themselves the 'I' girls. They're the new kids too.
Kovu: Dodge ball in gym class.
Vitani: But you love dodge ball
Kovu: Yeah, I know but after this morning's training, I was so tired.
Vitani sits next to me.
Kovu: When will we ever stop training?
Vitani: When the Pridelands become ours.
I laugh.
Kovu: Mum has some high fantasy
Vitani: I know.
Kovu: Besides does she know you are dating Kopa?
Vitani: Please, please, please. She doesn't not know, she must not know. If she does, she would kill me and you too.
Kovu: What are you talking about?
Vitani: You're hanging out with Kiara.
Kovu: I know. She's just so... easy to talk to and she just gets me. I don't have to pretend I'm someone else when I'm around her. She... doesn't try to change me at all. She likes me for me.
Vitani: The shy, introverted artist.
Kovu: You know me too well, Tani. As if we were actual blood siblings.
Vitani: Yeah. Too bad I never got to meet my mum or dad.
Kovu: I'm so sorry. I'm still searching for mine, without mum's consent.
Vitani: Me too.
Suddenly Nuka barges into the house.
Nuka: Get up from the couch pipsqueaks. I need to relax.
Kovu: I'll be in my room.
I grab my backpack and enter my room. I drop my bag on my bed and move to my desk. I have to finish my art project. My desk is covered in papers covered in drawings. My art project is about drawing a harmonious scene. I see the paper my project is on . However it is covered in ink and scribbles. My work is ruined. I am so mad at whoever did this. Then I realised it was Nuka. That son of a b*tch.
No one's POV
Kovu stormed to the living room, clutching his ruined project.
Kovu: NUKA!!!
Nuka turned.
Nuka: Whatsup brat.
Kovu: WHAT'S UP?! YOU RUINED MY PROJECT !!!! ARE YOU INSANE?! I WORK REALLY HARD ON IT, ONLY FOR A JERK LIKE YOU TO RUIN IT !!!WHAT IS IT WITH YOU?! YOU ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO MAKE MY LIFE MISERABLE!!! WHAT DID I EVER DO TO YOU?!
Nuka: Listen here, brat. You did this to yourself, you can continue to whine about your stupid project.
Kovu suddenly lost it. He pounced on Nuka. And soon blows and punches were going to and fro the so-called brothers. Vitani, in her room reading a book, heard the noise and went to check. Only to find the two fighting. Nuka had a black eye and Kovu had was bleeding on his forehead. Vitani separated the two. However, Kovu wasn't done and kicked Nuka in the crotch. Nuka crumpled on the floor in pain. Vitani dragged Kovu to her room where she cleaned the blood of his forehead.
Vitani: What were you thinking?
Kovu: He ruined my project.
Vitani: That doesn't mean you should fight him.
Kovu: I know. I'm sorry. It's just... I got so angry.
Vitani: I know. Nuka is a jerk.
Kovu: Yeah, that's why I hang out with you. You're way better than him. I just wished mum treated you better.
Vitani: Thanks. I hope your actual parents are as nice as you.
Kovu: Thanks. I... I hope I find them.
Vitani: Okay, so do you want to hang out with the gang tonight?
Kovu: Yeah.
Vitani: And maybe bring a few spray paints.
Kovu: I'd love that.
Vitani messes Kovu's dark brown hair.
Vitani: That's my little brother.
