Spring

Fahlada Thananusak, a senior Medical Student in one of the biggest universities in Turin, Italy was on her way home when it suddenly started to rain. Why did she even decide to get a coffee? She should have just walked straight home, which is only a twenty minutes walk away from where she's studying. It's in the midst of spring so why the rain?

She hadn't even gotten any umbrella with her and due to that complacency, she was stuck waiting for the rain to stop in the nearby awning of the local grocery store. She sighed. Luckily, she didn't have any books with here or else, she might just forced herself to stay inside the library until it stopped raining.

It's been a good ten minutes of her staring into the cobbled pavement and the rain was starting to halt when her focus was disturbed by someone who was wearing a huge yellow duck raincoat paired with an oversized polka dots rain boots.

She was awestruck. Turin tends to look dull and gray when it's raining but the girl was a striking contrast. The girl was laughing with her friends while passing by. She only saw her face briefly but she was sure that the girl was beautiful. Her wide amber eyes were shining brightly when laughing and her lips were the color of pale tint of red. Their eyes briefly met and it looks like everything slowed down in motion and during that time, nothing else matters around her. Fahlada felt a deep connection, there's butterflies in her stomach creating an unknown but strong sensation. It took a while but after snapping back to reality, Lada regretted not running after the girl to even ask for her name.

She deduced that the girl might be studying as well in the same university because of the lanyard that's peeking in that adorable raincoat of hers. It is also a fact that the facial feature of the girl shows she's an Asian as well so that basically narrows down a lot of factors. Unfortunately, it's a big university and Lada doesn't know where to start. She slept restlessly that night.

The next day, Lada found herself in the awning again, same time, same location on where she met the girl. She's hoping that she might just catch a glimpse of her again but to no avail. She kept on doing it for a week until she surmised that the girl might just happen to pass by that day. A sad realization but at least, Lada comforted herself by still trying despite the low probability.
