The Nigiri at Hiyaku always tastes like it just got caught that morning with its light reddish hue but the Vanilla ice cream with yamaroku soy shoyu of Tokujo always left her wanting for more. Her mind is at its warring state thinking of which she will go later that evening when a broken sob made her turn back to reality.
What was her name again? Gina? Jia?Gela? No, Gela was chic from last month. She purses her lips in thinking then clicks her tongue and decides to be safe, “Babe, please.. Stop crying. It just happened. I didn’t mean to but please understand my position.”
“But why is there a need for us to break up?”
Oh boy, here it is. Here we go again.
“My exams are coming up, you know it. I can’t just bear the thought of me neglecting you. .” She said, pulling the biggest puppy eye that she could muster. An additional point if her eyes could have it glisten with tears as well but eh, making herself cry is harder than Fluke sticking to one girl before the weekends. That fool of a man changes his girl like changing his clothes. At least for her, it’s like changing..bath towels. You will definitely need to change it regularly but not daily like her friend does.
“It’s okay. I can wait..” The girl insisted and Ling took a deep sigh. This method works 90% of the time but for persistent girls who really really like her, this won’t definitely do. She secretly glanced at the wall clock of the food diner where they are seated and she silently gritted her teeth. She’s late.
She cleared her throat and held the hands of the girl tightly, applying gentle pressure to calm the girl. There were already onlookers frowning in their direction because of the crying woman. “And I love you for that. I appreciate it, but are you sure that you’re really okay with me not seeing you for a month at least?”
Ling saw the glistening eyes of the woman welling up with the new batch of tears as her eyes widened after hearing what she said, “A m-month?” The girl gasped, horrified with her hands clasping against mouth. “But why a month?”
Ling was about to say something, but the loud chime of the diner's door rang through the entire vicinity, announcing the arrival of another customer. When Ling lifted her gaze, she breathed a sigh of relief. The girl is finally here. She's wearing her summer dress in the middle of November with her glasses, and oddly enough, she's also carrying a book. It seems that Orm is even catching her breath but was able to immediately compose herself when their eyes met, and then Ling brushed her hair aside afterward. Their signal.
She had to hide her smirk when she saw Orm rolling her eyes at her, as if throwing a tantrum, while looking at her as she walked towards them.
She cleared her throat and returned her gaze to the woman in front of her, “I need to confess to you about something…”
The woman in front of her gave her a puzzled look, "What was it?"
And right on cue, she heard the unmistakable sound of Orm's footsteps stopping behind her, and well, she felt the Vice President of their school wrapping her hand around her, and shockingly, the soft touch of her lips on her hair.
“Hey, babe. What are you doing here?” Orm said softly, her arms still snaking around her neck and their proximity towards each other is only a breath away. Ling can smell her fancy perfume and the peppermint on her breath. It’s intoxicating.
