FOLLOW THE SPIDERS
Now that everyone was gone, we exited Hagrid's hut and shoved off the cloak. I was lowkey suffocating under that thing. Ron was stunned by Hagrid's leave, "Hagrid's right! With Dumbledore gone, there'll be an attack a day!"
Harry wasn't paying attention to Ron. We gazed at where he was looking to see two lines of spiders, crawling down the walls from out the window of Hagrid's cabin.
I gasped understanding Hagrid's mysterious clues, "Follow the spiders! Come on, guys!" Harry went back inside to grab a lantern and Fang. Harry and I got a head start towards the forest. Harry repeated, "Come on!"
Ron shuddered at the spiders and the spooky forest, "What?"
Harry answered, "You heard what Hagrid said, follow the spiders!"
Ron practically screamed, "They're heading to the Dark Forest!"
I remember the Dark Forest as the place where the three of us had detention in our first year. I got attacked by a grindylow and Harry saw a hooded figure who he thought may have been Voldemort. Ron was also scared of the Dark Forest and hated spiders with a passion. Ron was displeased with going into the forest. He muttered to himself as he pushed on with us, "Why spiders? Why couldn't it be 'follow the butterflies'?"
Harry and I didn't care about the spiders, we just ignored Ron's pleas to leave and followed the creatures. It was deadly silent except for the crickets. The fog was thick and misty, and the sky was pitch black with speckles of white. It felt like we walked for miles in between the oaks. We were definitely deep in the heart of the forest.
The one trail of spiders turned into a small lake-sized group of spiders all walking forwards. We walked into a small tunnel and exited into a large pit, surrounded by larger-than-life tree roots. We noticed the spiders went down a tiny hill and out of sight so we stopped, then we heard this low and deep voice. It bellowed to us, "Who is it?"
Ron and I held each other, scared. "Don't panic," Harry told us.
It called again, "Hagrid? Is that you?"
Harry answered bravely, "We're friends of Hagrid's."
All of a sudden, eight long, hairy legs poke up from the hill. It was an acromantula! It was a XXXXX in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them! All three of us were now terrified, Ron almost crying at the sight of the large arachnid. It had two main big, black, beady eyes the size of footballs. Six little eyes that were the size of golf balls, its legs were as long as six feet, and its pincers were a foot long! The acromantula was also cover in spiky, brown hair. Harry continued, "And you? Your Aragog, aren't you?"
"Yes," It growled. "Hagrid has never sent men into our hollow before."
"He's in trouble. Up at the school, there have been attacks. They think it's Hagrid! They think he opened the Chamber of Secrets. Like before," Harry informed him.
"That's a lie!" Aragog stated. "Hagrid never opened the Chamber of Secrets."
"So, you're saying you're not the monster?" I inquired.
"No," he answered, solemnly. "The monster was born in the castle. I came to Hagrid from a distant land in the pocket of a traveler."
"Victoria?" Ron cried, looking above me.
"What?" I whispered worriedly.
He pointed above us, I looked upwards and fell into terror. There were hundreds of dozens of spiders above us hanging from their webs! I was petrified since they were all bigger than a large dinner plate. Harry continued, "But, if you're not the monster, then what did kill that girl fifty years ago?"
