The plan was simple: start a fire on the day of the Gursif, possibly distracting Hakashim, and make a run for it with all of the humans. However, the plan should be communicated first, but how? It should be subtle and swift enough so that the vampires don’t notice, and clear enough for the victims to understand. Also, Solace had to consider the vampires: Since they were being drugged as well, maybe they deserve recovery. No, that’s stupid. There isn’t a world where they would live correctly if they had a chance to escape. Besides, they’ve caused far too much harm: The most they’ll get is a lifetime in prison.
No, only humans should escape… especially since the monsters would probably keep their loyalty to their queen bee and die without their spell. Just because they suffer doesn’t mean they get to make others suffer as well.
But Vexx… why would he help? Because of his want to murder Kasvald? No matter, he probably has his own goals and reasons. All Solace had to do was take all the help she could get. There was no time to find explanations, especially ones that wouldn’t contribute to escaping this nightmare.
She had to be quick.
Solace had spent some instants preparing herself for breakfast. A loose, long black dress drooped from her wide shoulders, a transparent robe with black details which got lost in the darkness of her night gown slid across her tan arms. She pondered on the naturally deeper complexion she inherited. She was told her original family was of Argentine origin, specifically her biological father. Father Thomas said he got to meet him before he became so crazy that there was no way a young child such as herself back then was safe around him.
The reason? Her mother had died mysteriously with no clues or information of any kind having been found by the police of their small town to explain how it happened.
Solace had been born and raised in the little lost church, otherwise, how could it have been all she ever knew? Apart from her very limited usage of the internet, which is how she found her own values and became a passionate feminist, she had no contact with the world outside her church which taught her everything the web couldn’t. She was forbidden to exit the church, hence her lack of social skills.
The ash blonde shook her head, and sat down on the vanity to start to brush her hair. She had no time to remember the past. As she looked in the mirror, she noticed her tense jaw and furrowed brow. She breathed in and out slowly, relaxing her face for the first time since her arrival almost two weeks ago. She recomposed herself and felt as at ease as she could be.
She then heard the doorknob twist, and Skafil’s familiar, controlled steps. He walked in.
“Solace. It is time.” The sandy blond announced.
Solace stood up, without looking at the man, and nodded.
“I’m ready.”
