Solace arrived in the room she stayed in and quickly locked the door. She ran over to her suitcase and opened a secret compartment she had asked one of the nuns from the church to make. Solace told the woman that she needed to keep her underwear hidden from the men to "prevent them from seeing such sights before marriage...." She just put them in a bag and put the bag randomly in the suitcase, not giving a damn.
She pulled out Meredith's Diary and curled up on the bed. After sifting through the pages, she found herself on the last page she had read.

Dear Diary,
I'm being brought to Sutton manor. A fancy car had come in to pick me up. I've never been in one before, but it's pretty astonishing! The wheels are bigger than I could have ever imagined. It is rare for someone from as far away from the village, let alone the city, to be able to be in one of these. I wonder what Rose would say.
The road is bumpy; I'm afraid I might rip your pages. I promise I will write again soon enough, though, don't worry!
Solace flipped the page.
October 2nd
Dear Diary
I have finally arrived...
Solace couldn't read much: the ink had been thoroughly washed away. The tall woman panicked, mumbling a small "no" and pacing, frantically flipping through the pages, only to find that they were all in the same state. She cursed to herself and violently threw the book on the bed, the only light coming being the moon, as graceful as always. Solace examined the book again, curious: a faint glow emanated from the cover.
Esvi whatever-his-name-was.
Maybe he had answers.
Solace slipped on a pair of sweatpants and swiftly went through the oleander forest.
Surely enough, her companion sat casually on the floor with a flower within his gentle grasp. It felt as though he had noticed her, though his gaze rested on the soft, pale petals.
"Long time no see, Solace." he grinned, seeming content, "So, are you ready to start?"
"..."
Not yet.
I can't tell him about Meredith's Diary just yet.
I don't know if I can trust him.
"What do you have in mind?" she asked in a rough tone.
A gentle smile graced his traits. His dark, mellow eyes scanned Solace's figure.
"It's simple." He sighed, getting up. The flower gracefully fell onto the stone tiles of the path.
"Our family is a part of the higher-ranked groups in our community," he spoke, walking closer. "It means we're ultimately more... favored than others. Our abilities are superior to others of our kin. So we, of course, are feared. The Sutton name gained power throughout history until it became known as number two of the six most influential families." Esvidaijah explained as both of them sat on the floor.
"Wait; you never told me about your community. I've never heard of a country or group that arranges itself that way." Solace stated.
The man's expression was filled with surprise for a brief moment. He looked down and sighed, disappointed. His usually comforting and warm aura wavered ever so slightly, in the space of a second.
Yet that waver was so significant to Solace that the shake in her knees and palms became unstoppable.
Cold sweat ran down her temples as she waited for what he had to say with tears in her eyes.
He was her last hope.
"You still don't get it, do you?"
Esvidaijah Sutton looked at Solace full of seriousness.
"We are vampires, Solace."
