"What do you mean he took Nil?!"
Jae, Nico, Maxi, and Raffael had returned to the ship to deliver the grim news. Everyone was in shock at the twist. They had all been quite certain that Nil would've been killed instead of getting taken back alive.
"Miron also did something to him." Nico stated. "Right as we got there, he had sunk his stinger into Nil's temple... right where he got his BMI."
Tsang looked troubled by the news. "That is not good. His poison must react to it somehow. I fear we're going to soon find out what it did."
"Can we find out before we meet him?" Jae questioned. "I really don't want to go into this rescue blind like that."
"Unfortunately, there is no way for us to gather the data that would be necessary to test what might happen." ALIVA replied, "You all will be going in blind."
"I really don't like the sound of that..." Oliver commented quietly.
"Why didn't Miron just kill him though? Wasn't that his goal?" Zack asked.
"That's what we're worried about." Tsang said.
"You don't think Nil will... die from that... do you?" Nico asked hesitantly. Jae placed a hand on his shoulder.
"That is the most obvious result. After all, where he was struck is a place with direct access to his brain." ALIVA responded in a solemn tone. "It would be nothing to kill someone that way."
Nico visibly got tense and everyone could see tears in his eyes. Jae tightened her grip on his shoulder.
"Hey, I'm sure it'll be fine. I doubt this is the way he'd want to kill Nil." Maxi offered.
"What do we even do? We don't know where he's taken him, do we?" Raffael asked.
"Thankfully where he is hasn't blocked our trackers. We do have his location." Tsang stated. "ALIVA, can you pull it up?"
"On it." ALIVA nodded and brought up the location they had onto the conference table.
"He is in a shallow hideout. Most likely where Miron decided to make his base for the time being." Tsang said. "It will be hard to ambush him from there with only one entrance. He holds the advantage unfortuately. Stars knows what he has in place to keep unwanted visitors away."
"Do you have any idea for a rescue yet?" Amable asked.
"We need to look at the area a bit more before we can decide that." Tsang replied.
"Nil is alive?" Nico asked.
ALIVA pulled up a small display of vitals. "While our readings aren't perfect, his blaster does show he is still alive."
"But his vitals are jumping all over the place." Jae commented.
"Most likely from the poison. I can't determine the type of poison from this, sadly."
The hologram of Nil's vitals was constantly changing. Nothing was staying consistent.
"But since when does anyone sort of poison act like that?" Maxi questioned.
"Yeah. Doesn't poison just inflict something and stay like that until it runs out of your system?" Carlito added.
"Normally, yes." ALIVA nodded. "However, this may be different due to the location."
"Enough. We can't change it. Let's start planning how to get in and get Nil back." Tsang changed the subject.
"Alright." Everyone gathered closer to the table as Tsang started pulling up what imagery of the area he could.
