Chapter 24: Symbiotic

"Good morning."

Solstice was on a call with the other three. All of them were in different locations. Supernova was on the main ship, Orbit was on a planet, and Eclipse was on his personal ship.

"Wow, what's the occasion for the nice greeting?" Supernova said.

"I thought I'd be nice for once." Solstice stated in a low tone. "Now, as for why I wanted to talk. My plans are going well with our new construction. However, I am not liking the fact we haven't taken down a single Special Force idiot. Especially the fact that Artius still lives. I don't like not knowing what he could be getting up to."

"Do you have anything you want us to do specifically?" Orbit asked.

"No." Solstice shook his head. "I do not care how you go about it. Just end at least one of their lives soon."

"We'll do the best we can. Don't worry." Supernova promised. "Right guys?"

"Of course." Orbit agreed.

"Yeah. We'll get there." Eclipse nodded.

"You better." Solstice warned. "Now, Supernova, Orbit, you can go back to your duties. I have something to discuss in private with Eclipse."

Tsang called a meeting not long after breakfast. Everyone gathered around the conference table.

"So, we have read the messages left by Dustin. Nothing too important in terms of what is going on in this day and age. However, Eclipse added a message saying there is more to this than we know." Tsang said. "We are going back to SETI to try and recover a camera. That is what Eclipse suggested."

Raffael raised his hand. "I have a question."

Tsang nodded to him. "Go ahead."

"Why do we care so much about what happened in the past right now? None of that has been relevant to this time period."

"I understand the concern. However, there is some questionable info we have. This past stuff may be more relevant that we think."

"How so?" Jae asked.

"Dustin did mention all four by name. Eclipse, Solstice, Supernova, and Orbit. All named in his final message. They were created Jan 1st, 2021. Or at least Eclipse might've been." Artius stated. "Meaning, the past is not as different as we thought. These monsters appeared sooner than expected."

"So, what exactly is getting this camera going to do?" Carlito asked.

"Reveal what more Gilion had to play in my demise." Artius said. "If Eclipse saw it important enough to tell us about, we should look into it."

"So what exactly are we doing then?"

"We'll have a group head back to SETI and gather what is needed." Tsang said. "I don't like the fact that we haven't heard much about what Supernova and Orbit have been getting up to. I fear they may soon strike again."

"So the rest of us are on call for if they show up?" Nico said.

Tsang nodded. "Yes. So, for the team going back to SETI... Oliver, Zack, Amable, and Artius. You four can go. That should be enough, no?"

"Hopefully we won't run into any trouble." Artius replied.

"You never know."

The four of them descended the ship and began to depart. Artius had been given one of the spare space vehicles to use as his own. It was only fitting they gave him the one that resembled a phoenix the most..
