An alarm was blaring on the ship. Everyone was gathered in the bridge as ALIVA pulled up what the transmission was about this time. It had been almost a week since much had happened. This was the first alert they had gotten since defeating one of the assassins.
"GRF has sent an alert saying they did a scan and weird readings are coming up on Planet C45 in the Chamaeleon sector." ALIVA read the transmission. "They would like us to investigate and see what all is going on there."
"Jae... isn't that...?" Nico spoke quietly, his voice filled with concern.
"My home planet." Jae nodded, her gaze a little shaken.
"Are they mining for materials there again?"
"ALIVA, get us there. Let's figure this out." Tsang ordered.
"On it." ALIVA nodded and set their course.
The air was tense at the fact that this planet was one of their homes. Who knew just what they might stumble upon here now? Could it be that the New Galaxy knew this was Jae's home and were doing something to hurt her? It was hard to say. No one knew exactly what information the New Galaxy had on all of them. Even Nil had no idea.
"While we wait, we received another batch of globes." Tsang placed some more on the table. "Please take them."
Everyone eyed up the globes and took what they felt they wanted to try out. They were starting to get quite a collection of globes now.
"Do you think we stand a better chance now that we have all this power?" Raffael asked.
"We haven't really used many of these in fights yet." Carlito commented. "Only a few here and there."
"We should start thinking about using these during battle." Maxi agreed. "Just hard to get used to it when we fought for so long without the extra help."
"I can't wait to try and use these in battle." Raffael said.
The conversation stayed mostly lighthearted as they headed to their destination. Jae was silent, staring out the window. Nico walked over to her.
"You alright?" He asked.
"I don't know..." Jae replied with a sigh. "It feels weird going here."
"Did they ever retake the planet after the mining? Or did everyone go elsewhere?" Nico questioned.
"Elsewhere. The GRF was afraid to send anyone back. If they dug up stuff once, why wouldn't they do it again?"
"True... so, wonder what's going on." Nico looked out the window as well.
"They might be mining things again." Jae replied. "Like you said."
"I hope that's all it is."
"Commander, come here." ALIVA called.
"What is it?" Tsang came over to it.
ALIVA spoke quietly to the commander. Jae gave Nico a worried look. Why were they being secretive about this? Didn't they all need to know what it had found out?
"Is something wrong?" Amable questioned.
ALIVA turned around to look at everyone. "Well... we got an update."
"An EM has been reported on the planet." Tsang finished.
"No..." Jae shook her head in disbelief. "No... it can't..."
Nico grabbed her hand and held it tightly. "It's gonna be alright, Jae. We'll stop it."
"I admire the confidence, Nico, but it has been there for a while from the look of it." ALIVA replied.
