"Good morning, everyone. We have a mission today outside of the usual." Tsang began his morning debriefing as always. "The HQ has been alerted of a chief in the Aquarius sector who seems to be performing their own set of experiments of civilians. As this may be connected to what Solstice is doing, they want us to go and get to the bottom of it."
"What's the chief's name?" Carlito asked.
"We... are not sure." ALIVA replied. "There are reports with about five different names that have been used to refer to this chief in specific. Hard to really say which one is their actual name."
"Weird."
"I'm sure there is a reason they do so." Tsang said. "Perhaps we will figure it out when we go there. So... I was thinking we have about five or six of you go do that while the rest of us will work on the other mission we have to complete still."
"So we're splitting half and half roughly?" Nil said.
Tsang nodded. "Yes. We have 11 of us able to fight so five to one, six to the other."
Jae let out a quiet sigh only she could hear. It was annoying that she was still out of commission. She wanted to help them fight but her bones had yet to fully heal. She was almost there, but not quite ready to be put back on duty. At least she finally was out of the cast on her arm.
"I think five can handle the chief. We should try to keep more for the commanders." Artius commented.
"Which five of you would like to go on this adventure?" Tsang asked.
Carlito, Nil, Raffael, Oliver, and Amable were the first ones to raise their hands to volunteer. Tsang nodded to them all.
"Alright, then the rest of us shall see what becomes of this tracking mission." Tsang said.
"We should be arriving in a few minutes, prepare yourselves." ALIVA said.
"Do you have the location of where the chief is at?" Nil asked.
"We have their ship, but it is unclear if that is where they are doing all this stuff at. The reports are quite unclear in most areas. No current sightings on any cameras we have."
"So we're just going to play a guessing game. Play it by ear?" Raffael said.
"We don't have much of a choice, I'm afraid. This chief seems very good at scrambling intel so we can't figure anything out." Tsang replied.
"This chief does seem to have a knack for making everything very confusing." Maxi commented.
"Probably intentional to throw off anyone trying to come at them. I'm sure once we can assess the situation, a lot will make sense." Amable said.
"But why do they need to be so confusing in the first place? They're just a chief. Not like they're that special to the New Galaxy." Oliver questioned.
"We'll see when we get there."
"We should be coming into orbit of the planet any minute. I suggest you all prepare to depart." ALIVA said.
The five left the room and headed to their vehicles. At the confirmation they were clear to depart, they soared down to the planet and landed near the town that was shown to have the chief's ship.
Everyone exited their vehicles and looked around the area. They were in a flat grassland just outside the town. Nothing much was there to look at. Just some forest and grassland. The town itself seemed pretty normal for the circumstances.
"So, what should we do to figure this stuff out?" Raffael asked. "We can't just barge into the ship and try to invade it, can we?"
"Probably not the wisest idea." Nil replied. "Given we don't know where the experiments are actually taking place at, we should try to stay low and maybe ask the civilians for info first. The last thing we need to do is cause problems and get innocent civilians hurt."
