Javier's Pov
There were loud sounds I could hear in my subconsciousness, in the distance, like that of a blaring horn of a train.
Wait, train?
Daniella! Natalia! I forced my eyelids open and soon pains shot from my back head which I think should be because of whatever they had hit me with.
“Wakey, wakey.” I looked up to see Carlos, grinning down at me. I made to throw my fist at his face and wipe that silly grin off, but I couldn't. I looked down to see my entire body restricted, tied to the chair I am in.
Not surprised.
“You know, sincerely speaking, I had hoped you wouldn't fall for my little tricks. But seeing the turn out of events, one would think that you aren't quite as smart as you let off.” He said, getting me more angry as I struggled to free myself from these ropes.
Juan was right, this was a trap! Why didn't I stop to reason with him? How foolish of me.
“So you thought I'll let you rescue them just like that? Oh no amigo, your precious family were just bait to get you into my web. How was that hard to figure out?” He said with arrogance, that is pissing me more.
I wish I could throw a punch at him right now and have his face disfigured before I kill him!
“Fine, if they were the bait to get to me then let them go, Carlos. You have me now.” I spat out.
He started laughing really hard, I continue to watch him.
“You know, that's just the problem now. Their jobs as baits are all over, but another thought had come to me. Like why don't I use them to cause you so much pain that you won't be able to recover from it in this lifetime. Huh, what do you think?” He said, giving me menacing smile.
“If you hurt even a hair on their head, I promise you I will make you beg for death and it won't come.” I said sternly as he broke into another provocative laughter.
“I would really want to see that. You know, you should be grateful to that right hand man of yours. He’s one smart ass you got there. He was able to rescue your daughter from her captivity and fighting off all my men. He should pray to the heavens that my men don't find him because if they do, I'll make him pay for what he did to my men and putting my whole plan to jeopardy.” He said.
Thank goodness Juan managed to rescue Natalia. Thank you so much Juan, I knew I can always count on you. Please take care of her and be out of sight till I'm done setting things straight here.
“Oh what's that look I see in your face, relief? Your man may have ruined some part of it, but I still have your precious wife trapped by the railway ready to be crushed by the train in the next twenty-five minutes. You might hear the train chugging along in no time.” He said, grinning.
He stepped aside only for me to see Daniella still tied to the tracks, struggling to set herself free. My heart couldn't help but squeeze at her how helpless she is. All this does is infuriate me.
“How will you feel seeing her being crushed into a million pieces right in front of you, huh?” His voice said, close to my ears.
The thought of Daniella dying in front of me like this terrifies me. I have to save her at any cost!
With all my might, I stand up halfway and still tied to head butt Carlos in the face. He fell to the ground, groaning. His men I hadn't noticed before came at me, and in my attempt to dodge one of them I lost my balance and fell. Landing awkwardly with the chair to my back, it broke and the ropes came somewhat loose enough. But not without the cost of severe pains shooting up my spine. I had no time to care for my back when one of Carlos men came at me again with an axe in hand.
