As they were getting ready to leave, Y/N stood up and stopped them at the door. "Wait," she said, reaching into her bag. She pulled out several small envelopes and handed one to each of them. "Here’s some money for necessities. Don’t waste it, but keep it with you."
The boys hesitated, their hands hovering over the envelopes. It felt strange, taking money from her. But seeing her stern gaze, they knew better than to argue. Slowly, they each took their envelopes, murmuring their thanks.
"Take care," she said softly, watching as they headed out the door.
The boys started their walk towards school and college, still adjusting to their new lives. The neighborhood around Y/N's mansion was filled with large, elegant homes, and they couldn’t help but feel out of place in such a wealthy area. Still, the air was fresh, and they enjoyed the calm of walking together, a sense of normalcy amidst the unfamiliar.
When they arrived at their schools and colleges, they were each directed to their respective classes. Jin and Suga settled into college life, feeling a little more at ease compared to the younger ones. RM and J-Hope found themselves in the final year of high school, where the pressure of preparing for college loomed large. Jimin and Taehyung were both in their early high school years, nervous but determined to make a good impression. Jungkook, being the youngest, was still in junior high, and the nerves of starting at a new school weighed heavily on him.
Each of them introduced themselves to their classes, feeling awkward but doing their best to blend in. It wasn’t easy. The wealth and social status of the other students made them feel like outsiders, but they stuck together during breaks, finding comfort in each other’s presence.
When the day finally ended, they were exhausted but relieved. They regrouped and began their walk back to the mansion, chatting about their first day and the new people they had met. Despite the differences, they were optimistic that things would get better over time.
When they arrived home, Y/N was still working in her study. The house was as quiet as it had been that morning, and after a quick dinner, the boys retreated to their rooms, tired from their long day.
It wasn’t until they were lying in their beds that they began to truly reflect on the day. Their new lives were challenging, but they felt a strange sense of hope. Even though Y/N remained distant and cold, they couldn’t shake the feeling that, in her own way, she was looking out for them. And as they drifted off to sleep, they wondered what tomorrow would bring in this unfamiliar but slowly softening home.
Two months had passed since BTS began living with Y/N. They had grown used to the grand house, though they couldn’t shake the feeling of guilt at being a burden to their aloof Noona. But each time Y/N’s cold stare swept over them, that guilt seemed to fade, replaced by a strange sense of belonging.
Their interactions with Y/N were becoming more frequent, though none of them would say they felt completely comfortable around her. Y/N had an aura that made them cautious, but they couldn't help but try to break through her icy exterior.
One day, Y/N was passing by Taehyung’s room when she overheard him cursing in frustration. She pushed the door open sharply, making Tae jump. He was sitting at his desk, papers scattered everywhere, trying to make sense of his homework.
"Tae," Y/N said sternly, making him freeze in his seat. "Why are you cursing?"
"I—I'm sorry, Noona," Tae stuttered, not meeting her eyes.
Y/N’s gaze softened slightly as she looked over his chaotic desk. "What’s the problem?"
"I... I don’t understand this math problem," Tae admitted, his voice small.
Y/N sighed, pulling a chair up beside him. "Show me."
Tae hesitated, his eyes flicking nervously between the problem and Y/N’s calm expression. He explained it to the best of his ability, afraid that she would scold him again for his mistakes. But instead of berating him, Y/N walked him through the problem patiently. Her voice was soft, and she even offered hints where he was struggling.
