Donna and Dick rushed towards me, helping me to get back on my feet. I had to lean on Donna a lot for support, I was still very weak and hurt.

"Are you okay, Angela?" Donna asked. She looked me over and cringed every time she saw a bruise.

"I'm hanging in there." I winced.

Zatanna walked up to me, she looked disappointed. "Why would you do that? Why would you leave?"

Everyone turned and looked at me for my answer. My eyes started to well up with tears. "When me and Gizbie were training, it dawned on me how long I've been away from home. I've only been here a couple of months. But for them, it's been over a year. My mom had been suffering without me for over a year. Zahra has been away from her family for over a year. I couldn't wait here anymore. Not just for my sake, but for Zahra's too. I had to end this here, today, so that I could get Zahra and we could go home."

"Why didn't you tell us? Why just leave?" Donna asked, her voice cracking. Ugh, I feel horrible.

"You guys wouldn't have let me do it." I muttered out pathetically.

"Of course not! Look at what happened when you went off alone and untrained! Just because you have magic doesn't mean you know how to use it!" Zatanna tore into me. I flinched back in shock. It looked like she was rearing up to yell at me again but Clark placed a hand on her shoulder and shook his head no. She huffed and closed her mouth.

"I'm sorry. I just need to get home." I sobbed. Donna pulled me close to her and hugged me tight. I sobbed into her chest. She patted my back soothingly.

"Let's head back to Metropolis. I think we all need to calm down and regroup." Dick spoke up.

"Fine." Zatanna snapped. Clark picked those two up, but Donna kept me in her arms and we flew back.

Gizbie's apartment was now empty of all her things. The only remnants that anyone had ever stayed here was our stuff still being in our rooms. We all packed our things silently and headed to Clark's house. He said we could spend the night and regroup tomorrow. I just wanted to disappear.

The car ride there was dead silent. The only noise was the music playing on the radio. I was feeling so awkward, and still very sore from the fight. Zatanna healed me a bit, but I'm not back at one hundred percent. She probably did it to punish me.

I stole a glance at Dick, who was gripping the steering wheel so tightly his knuckles had turned white. He hadn't said much since the Fortress, and that worried me more than anything. I could handle Zatanna's anger, but Dick's silence was a different kind of torment. I was terrified of what he was thinking, what he must think of me after everything that had happened.

We got to Clark's house pretty quickly. Him and his wife were outside waiting for us. We pulled into their driveway and I saw a tiny head peek through the blind of the window. Blue eyes, the same shade as Clark's looked back at me. They quickly vanished back into the house and I smiled a little. It must've been Jon.

We all climbed out of the car, our movements sluggish after the long day. Lois waved us inside with a welcoming gesture, so we followed her lead. The house was cozy and inviting, with the kind of warmth that only a family home could have. Everywhere I looked, there were reminders of happy childhood memories—photos on the walls, toys tucked into corners, the faint scent of something delicious still lingering in the air. It made me think of my own mother, and a fresh wave of sadness washed over me.

"I made dinner," Lois said, her voice apologetic as she led us into the kitchen. "Not a lot, unfortunately. I didn't know we'd be having guests until recently."
