A/N: Hi there! This chapter is a bit of a filler... cliche bar moments... character development (sort of)... I'm trying my best not to make it too cliche. My brain is aching from that attempt😅 But once things get rolling, it will be fun again.
Just wait, it will be so worth it :)
--The drive to the bar is short and comfortably silent. Emily has the radio on and is much more relaxed and happy now that the case is over. I'm happy, too. We have the rest of the weekend just to relax and not do anything. Well... hopefully, we'll be doing things. I grin softly when I think about spending the weekend with my Domme. I wonder what she has planned or if she has anything planned for us.
Before I can ask, she's parking the car outside the bar and squeezing my thigh, jolting me from my thoughts. "We're here," she smiles at me, her eyes flickering to the bar entrance. I take a moment to observe her as she's distracted. The setting sun gives her a glow, and her eyes catch the light as she looks back at me. "Ready?" she asks, shifting to unbuckle her seatbelt. I nod, doing the same.
Somehow, before I even open my door, Emily's already there, doing it for me. She holds her hand out to me with a little grin, and I smile back at her. I take her hand and let her pull me from the car. "Now, Y/n, remember what I said," she murmurs softly as I wrap my arm through hers, letting her lead me to the entrance. "Be a good girl," I respond as lowly as she had spoken. "That's right," she hums, opening the door and letting go of my arm, letting me walk into the bar first.
I step inside and start looking for the team. They're in our regular spot, at the corner table near the back of the bar. I quickly start going over to them but get stopped by Emily's finger snaking through the belt loop at the back of my slacks. I barely contain the soft yelp as I get pulled back to her side. "Where are you going?" Emily murmurs to me, sliding her hand around my hip, keeping me close as she slowly weaves us through the throng of people to our team.
"I was..." I trail off suddenly, realizing we aren't on the clock right now despite being out at a team function. This means that Emily, to me, isn't my Unit Chief. She's my Domme. My revelation sends a shiver down my spine, and I fall easily into stride with her. "Nothing, Mistress," I say softly to her. "Call me Emily when we're with the team," she murmurs right into my ear as we approach the table. I nod, swallowing harshly. Our team won't suspect anything as long as we act normal.
It will be hard, though, with Emily already touching me, her hand slipping to the small of my back to be less conspicuous. "Hey guys," she greets the team easily, gently pressing against my back in a silent form of telling me to sit. "Where's Reid and Luke?" I ask, sliding into the booth and giving everyone a grin as I sit down. The girls grin back at me, and Tara slides a shot towards me. "Spencer's somewhere reading in a more quiet spot. And Luke is at the bar. We were waiting for you to get here," Penelope grumps playfully while JJ lifts her shot glass to us.
I laugh and reach for my little glass, but Emily reaches out and places her hand on my arm. "Hey, where's mine at?" she interjects, stopping us from successfully doing a little cheers. The four of us look at Emily in surprise. "You want a shot?" I ask, tilting my head at her. Her eyes are cool as she looks back at me. Tonight is not a night I can get hammered. Though her next words are soft and playful, I can read the warning in her expression.
"Well, I'm out with the team, celebrating a successful case. And I should let loose for once. Lord knows this case stressed me out," she chirps, shrugging her shoulders as her eyes brighten when she looks between JJ, Tara, and Penelope. I know Emily's putting on a front right now, the way her voice lilts almost comically, her eyes lighting up as if she's absolutely positively thrilled to be here in this bar. There's no way the girls should fall for her fake happy voice, but they do for some reason. They all get so excited that it makes me giggle. I know it's been a long time since they've gotten Emily out and even longer since she's agreed to do shots with them.
