Strange Dreams

You sat relaxed next to Wendy, as you listened to Dipper ramble about new theories, and weird things he'd seen, while watching Mabel doing her usual silly activities, like dressing up waddles, or trying to do the worm. You tried making some small talk with Wendy, asking about the previous school year, and if she had plans for college. It was a nice routine, relaxing, only helping the occasional customer.

You kept seeing strange things out of the corner of your eye, or hearing odd, distant noises. You always brushed it off as an over-active imagination, lack of sleep, or just people passing by. Nonetheless, it was still odd. Gravity Falls seemed to be weirder than ever. You were pretty close with Dipper, as you had graduated high school early, and were attending college studying Quantum Physics and other sciences. So he always showed you his ideas, you couldn't tell if he genuinely wanted feedback, or if he just wanted to impress you with all the nerdy ideas.

Currently, he was rambling about some type of device to block... demons from entering your brain? Apparently Ford had one. You didn't really understand what the purpose was so you kind of tuned it out, giving the occasional head nod, or a little "mhm..."

It caught your interest when he started cautioning you about bizarre dreams and nightmares. Could it be related? It couldn't be. Just a funny coincidence. He was talking about his past experiences, ones similar to yours. You nervously listened, hoping it was just one of his quirky theories, and nothing important.

Eventually, it was time to close shop up. Stanley and Mabel invited you to a movie night for a new "Ducktective" special. You decided to tag along, having nothing better to do. The show was kind of entertaining at least, and you did enjoy spending some quality time.

Eventually becoming weary, you make your way to your room, and get ready for bed. Drifting off into a blissful sleep.

At least... what you hoped would be blissful. You start reliving a handful of your worst memories, being taunted by the past. You tried as best you can to think of your happy place, it's just a dream, after all. But you were continuously tortured with the reenactment of everything you dreaded. You find yourself curled up in a corner, choking back tears, when suddenly everything clears up. You hear a sinister laugh, slowly get louder and louder. You stood up and looked around, puzzled, you were floating in an abyss of stars and space. You couldn't identify the source of the laughter. Until the laughing is so loud it feels like it is right behind you. Quickly spinning around to see what it is behind you, you see it.

"Hiya, smart guy!" A yellow, 2D, floating triangular man, who only had one eye, paired with a bowtie and top hat, had appeared behind you.

"What-... What the fuck are you?" You stood aghast, mouth agape, absolutely puzzled by what on earth could be happening right now.

"Woah there, kid! I could say the same for you! What are you, some kind of confused cross-dresser? Hah just kiddin'!"

Slightly offended, and still majorly confused, you try swinging at the figure. The punch doesn't land, as he instead disappears and appears on the other side of your fist.

"Hey, watch it! Fight or flight, am I right? The human mind really is a nightmare!" You still stare, dumbfounded and confused. He begins to circle around you, making you dizzy. "I've had my eye on you, kid. You're a smart one aren't-cha? Been wandering around this place a bit, boy, is it amusing!" He laughs again, menacingly. "What a life!" He looks over at you, still shocked, jaw to the floor.  He closes your mouth, bringing you back after being lost in your thoughts.

"I guess I never introduced myself, my name is Bill! Bill Cipher! Nice to meet ya, Y/N!" he snaps his fingers, and suddenly you're sitting at a table, with a cup of tea sitting in front of you. Seemingly having no mouth, he brings his cup to his eye, drinking with his eyelid.

"How did you..." You look down at the cup sat in front of you, and it looks back. You shriek and push your chair back, trying to get away from the eyeball in the cup.

"Hope you like your tea! Added a special ingredient! HAH! Hilarious!"

"What is going on?" You look at the strange man, still aghast.

"I like you (S/O/C), you've got brains. I need someone with some smarts!"

"(S/O/C)? What is-"

"Ya see, I only exist in this realm, the mind! But I need someone to help bring me to the physical world, you understand? And only someone with enough smarts can do that for me!"

Realizing this was just some weird dream, you settle back into your seat, blushing a bit at the praise. "I appreciate that, but I wouldn't consider myself that smart... What would I even need to do?"

"Simple! Just a little deal! You give me what I want and I can give you anything you ever dreamed of!" He came up next to you, pulling you into a side hug, "Imagine it! Infinite power! Love and acceptance! Your ideal body!" He nudges you in the side giving you a smug look, "Eh? So what do you think? Sit on it! Let me know in your next dreams! See ya, (S/O/C)!"

You jolt awake, in a cold sweat. It was only a dream. You look down at your hands, and see messages written on one.

"Think about it! -Bill"
