Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School, a prestigious Japanese high school which boasts an impressive 100% employment and college entry rate. Being able to attend this school is basically a cheat code to success in the eyes of youth and adults alike. And now, starting from today, this will also be the school I will attend for the next 3 years.

As I'm watching the scenery pass by me on the bus which is heading towards the campus, a question pops into my head.

"What exactly makes this school so prestigious?" I mutter to myself. While I'm aware that a school having a 100% employment rate is certainly no small feat, giving a title like 'presitigious' based on that single fact seems a little odd.

"Excuse me," a man's voice came from behind me. When I turned to look at him, I found myself face-to-face with a man that had quite a broad figure, being bald and having a face and voice that were both intimidating to the common person. If you asked me to guess his age, I would've answered that he looked like a man in his early thirties, but considering he was wearing the same uniform as I am, I couldn't be farther off it seems.

Before I could react appropriately or even ask the man for his name, he stood up and approached me. "Do you mind if I sit here?" he asked. Part of me expected him to take a seat right away, but he politely waited for my response.

"I don't mind," I told him. He gave me a small nod and sat beside me, occupying the aisle seat that I had kept open. "Uhhh, my name is-" I wanted to start with introductions, but it seems he had other plans.

"I was the one who intruded on you. The least I can do is introduce myself first," he said. Despite his figure, my guess would be that he's actually quite polite and maybe even somewhat of a stickler for rules. "My name is Katsuragi Kohei, just like you I will be attending the Advanced Nurturing High School from today. It's nice to meet you."

We're in the same year, huh? I would've guessed that he'd at least be third year with his build, but the fact that we're the same age is somewhat off-putting. "My name is Ayanokouji Kiyotaka, nice to meet you," I told him. Katsuragi nodded and continued his explanation.

"You asked why the school we're approaching is so prestigious, if I remember correctly. Is that right?" he asked. I guess he heard me talking to myself, which wouldn't be so surprising.

"It was more so a thought that slipped out but yes, I did ask myself that question."

"It's only natural some students would ask that question," he explained, "even without researching the school, its employment and college entry rate are the achievements that are well-known among our peers. So it's quite easy to assume that's the only thing the school is known for."

I'm not sure why he felt the need to explain to me why the school we're heading to is so amazing. My guess would be that he's quite proud of the fact he's been able to enroll into this school. I do know the acceptance rate of this school is about 0.4%, which seems to put those of us who managed to enroll a step above the average high schoolers.

"Aside from that achievement, the school offers a variety of services and does things in different ways, which sets apart this high school from others. The school grounds are an impressive 600 square kilometers and has many facilities which other high schools could only dream of having. However what sets this school apart the most is its dormitory system."

From the way he's talking, I can only assume he has done extensive research into this school. It's only natural that if you've lived a normal life until now, you'd research what high schools to apply for and what the pros and cons for them were.

"We are not allowed to leave the campus at any time, except under special circumstances or emergencies. Additionally, to accommodate us during our time here, pretty much anything you can think of is within the grounds of the school. From entertainment to medical care."
