I entered what would be my room for the next 3 years. It looks like a typical dorm room, or at least what I think a typical dorm room would look like. I turned on the lights and immediately saw several big cardboard boxes sitting next to my bed. The school did notify us that everything we'd sent to the school would be here already, but something was off.
"I don't remember Matsuo sending that much stuff," I muttered to myself. While I do know that Matsuo sent pretty much all the clothes I had along with some small decor items and kitchen utensils, I know it wasn't enough to fill 6 cardboard boxes to the brim.
It also didn't help that 4 of the 6 boxes in the room were clearly packed differently than the rest. The 2 smaller boxes were the ones I remember Matsuo getting ready to send, but the others were not only a different size, but were also packed differently.
I approached one of the smaller boxes and opened it with a knife that was already in one of the kitchen drawers, probably from a previous tenant or something the school provided so you don't have to go out to buy all that stuff on your first day.
"Sure enough, this is what I expected it to be," the box was filled with pretty much only clothes, meaning the other box is probably everything else I own. But that just leaves the question, what are the other boxes for?
I opened one of the boxes I assumed wasn't mine and looked inside. Immediately I could tell whoever these clothes belonged to, it definitely wasn't me. All the clothes inside the box would fit more on a feminine figure and alongside the clothing was also a small bag containing various beauty products.
Part of me wanted to continue searching the box and see what was packed in there, but after pulling out a pair of panties and a bra from the box, I decided against it. Maybe I shouldn't have even looked in the first place.
I was about to contact the school when I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I turned on my phone to find an announcement made on the official school account of ANHS.
Subject: Dorm room delivery mixup
[Dear first years of Advanced Nurturing High School,
We've received several complaints from first year students stating that the items that they had sent to the school ahead of time either weren't in their dorm room, part of what was supposed to be there was missing or that students have been sent more items than they had sent to the school. We're currently trying to deduce which students got sent which packages and we will be sending all first year students a private email with details on where to either pick up your missing supplies or who will be picking them up from your dorm room soon. Students are advised to stay in the dorms until noon tomorrow to allow students to pick up their goods.
Our sincerest apologies.]
Well that certainly explains it. Whoever these items belong to will be notified in due time I guess. No use worrying about it now, I might as well start unpacking my own things for now. At least it's the weekend tomorrow, so it's not like I have to get up super early just for another student to pick up their stuff before school.
Right after I finished unpacking everything I heard my phone go off on the table next to my bed. Sure enough, I received another message from the school.
Subject: Pick-up dorm supplies
[Dear student,
We've confirmed that supplies from a different student were sent to you by mistake, we apologize for the inconvenience. The student the items belong to will be notified of this and advised to pick up their belongings tomorrow.
