After the S-system became common knowledge, every class aside from class B started treating each other differently. Instead of just being people who went to the same school as us, they became rivals to beat. Since we were class A, a lot of students from class C and D looked at us with scowls on their faces. So that begs the question...
"Take that!" Kushida splashed water onto one of her friends.
"Hey, that's not fair, Kikyou-chan!" An indigo-haired girl, who I've heard being referred to as 'Mii-chan' splashed her back.
How did we end up in this situation?
We were supposed to have a normal PE session today. But apparently due to the absence of one of the PE teachers, classes had to be paired up today. Since a single teacher can't possibly keep 80 students in line on their own, they decided that today we'd just have a free period in the pool to 'exercise'.
Truth be told, the only people I've seen actually swim rather than play are a red-haired guy from class D as well as Yoshida Kenta from my own class. They started swimming on their own at first, but before I knew it they were suddenly having races against one another.
Surprisingly, even though Yoshida wasn't quite as built as the red-haired guy, he was still able to keep up. Both of them had won roughly the same amount of races. Then again, I know from my own experience that your physique is far from the most important thing when it comes to strength.
"Are you just gonna sit there and oggle the girls, Ayanokouji-kun? You're not as innocent as you seem, huh?" Hashimoto approached me with Sanada not far behind him.
"I was looking at the guys if that makes it any better," I told him.
"So you swing that way, huh?" Hashimoto sat down beside me.
"Not particularly. I was just looking at Yoshida's races."
I pointed to Yoshida who had just won another race. The red-haired guy smiled, said something to Yoshida and then left to join his own friends. Yoshida meanwhile just continued swimming on his own.
"He has a surprising amount of stamina, doesn't he? No wonder he's gotten so popular among the sports clubs. Then again, Sudou-kun is the same." Sanada said.
"So the red-haired guy's name is Sudou. At this rate I might actually know everyone in class D by the end of the year."
"We really need to work on your sense of humor, Ayanokouji-kun." Sanada gave me a smile that I can only describe as one that took pity on me.
"I think it's fine, that's part of his charm. It clearly works on the princess, doesn't it?" Hashimoto had a smug smile on his face when he said that.
"Do I even want to know what you're talking about, Hashimoto?" I asked him.
"Come on man. Not everyone in the class has noticed yet, but you and Sakayanagi have pretty odd conversations. Both of you seem to know something about each other yet you never outright say what it is. It's mysterious."
"That's just your imagination," I shrugged.
"Fine, fine. Well then, on to more important topics."
Hashimoto then pointed to a place in the pool where a lot of class A girls were playing. I noticed that class D and A are pretty much not interacting with each other. The only exceptions so far were Yoshida and Sudou.
"So, who's your type?" Hashimoto asked.
"Seriously Hashimoto-kun?" Sanada sighed.
"This is important, Sanada-kun. What kind of girl would a guy like Ayanokouji-kun be interested in? Aren't you at least a little curious?"
