Move 8.5 - Our Goal

While class A was being united under Sakayanagi's leadership in the 20 minutes they were given to discuss the newly introduced S-system, every class was facing their own battles. This is the story of what happened in class B, C and D during the 20 minutes between their homeroom teacher's explanation and the start of morning classes.

Class B - Ichinose Honami POV

"O- Okay class, that is all I have to say. You can use the remaining 20 minutes of homeroom to discuss things among... yourselves. I'm gonna- sit down for a while."

Hoshinomiya-sensei stumbled across the classroom and practically fell into the chair next to the desk at the front of the classroom. She laid her head in her arms on the desk, clearly not intending to talk any more to probably prevent herself from throwing up. This'll be a recurring theme for our class, won't it?

"Honami-chan!" Before I could even get out of my chair I felt Mako-chan's arms wrap around me from behind, holding me tightly against her and my own chair.

"M- Mako-chan! I can't breathe if you hold me that tight!"

"Ahaha, sorry, sorry!"

810 class points, just seeing it on the blackboard makes me incredibly happy. After Katsuragi-kun threw some hints my way, I immediately called up everyone from our class to go to karaoke to discuss what Katsuragi-kun wanted to convey to me and Kanzaki-kun.

We ended up concluding that while we weren't sure in what way, we must be getting monitored. And the result of that monitoring was going to affect our school life starting May 1st. As a result, my class started behaving even better than they already were.

I'm not saying my class was being rowdy all the time or were breaking the rules, but occasionally I'd catch a glimpse of someone checking a message on their phone, or dozing off in class. I didn't want to be rude, and Hoshinomiya-sensei never said anything about it, so I just brushed it off. But looking back, the S-system was probably the reason that she never called any of us out on our bad behavior.

I stood up and walked to the front of the classroom. Well, I tried to walk normally at least, but I could feel myself almost skipping to the front out of happiness. This was a big deal after all. Hoshinomiya-sensei said that this is the first time class B has kept over 800 class points after their first month. Just that alone gives me so much hope for the future!

"Everyone, I want to start by saying I'm so incredibly proud of everyone here! Thanks to all your hard work, we managed to keep more than 800 class points and we're right on class A's tail. With a bit of luck, we might be able to manage reaching class A by the end of the year!"

"What're you saying, Honami? It's thanks to you that we ended up in this position," said Shibata-kun, a classmate and good friend of mine. When we discussed Katsuragi-kun's hints, he was one of the first people to put his own interpretations on the table, which helped us immensely during the rest of our discussion.

"Shibata-kun's right! If you and Katsuragi-kun never met, our points would've been a lot lower," Watanabe-kun said.

"Actually, I wanted to talk about that for a moment, if you all don't mind?" I told them.

"Hm? What is it, Honami-chan?"

"I think we should repay Katsuragi-kun somehow." 

Katsuragi-kun told me that this was a way for him to repay the kindness Kanzaki-kun and I have shown him, but it just doesn't sit right with me to let that be the end of it. 

"Repay? Like with private points?" Hamaguchi-kun asked, to which I shook my head.

"No, I'm more so talking about maybe we'd owe him a favor of some kind. If there's a way to lose class points, then surely there's a way to gain them as well. Maybe we could do him some favor in the future that would help him or his class."
