Violet's POV
"Miss you can't be here." A nurse said once I entered the ICU.
"I don't care. I am here to see Vincenzo." I said stubbornly.
"Leave." Milanio said from behind me. The nurse instantly nodded and left. "You have a couple of minutes miss Violet before the whole staff bombards us with questions." He said and I nodded.
"Okay." I said looking towards a laying Vincenzo.
He was hooked to the IV and a heart monitor was beeping next to his head. There was an oxygen mask on his mouth and nose. He was barely breathing. His chest was bandaged.
I traced the flower tattoo on his chest and sat next to him on the chair. I played with his hair looking at his pained face.
"Hey. I know I was giving you a hard time, but I was afraid of my feelings for you. The truth is, I l–like you. It is hard for me to like you when you, I won't say kidnapped, but took me against my will. Things would have been better if you asked me out on a date." I want you to wake up, so I could argue with you again. Wake up soon please." I wiped a tear.
"Miss Violet, the doctor wants to check up on the boss." Milanio said.
"Okay." I said standing up.
With a last glance at Vincenzo I left his side and towards the lobby.
"How is he?" The boys gathered up around me.
"I don't know. He is breathing." I shrugged sitting down on the waiting chairs.
"We will bring you something to eat." A man said to Gio.
"Okay. Bring something warm for miss Violet. Apparently she will stay the night." He said looking at me. I nodded in confirmation.
Tracy sat next to me and put her hand on my shoulder. I smiled at her embracing the sister feeling I get from her.
20 minutes later, the doctor came towards us.
"He is stable for now. The bullets thankfully didn't cause any internal bleeding, and we were able to take them out. We will move him to a private room, where we will keep him under our watch. Although the next 24 hours will be a bit risky. I hope he gets well soon." The doctor said.
"Thank you doctor." Paolo said shaking the doctor's hand.
"You are welcome. If you need anything call the nurse." He said and left followed by 2 nurses.
"Let's go to his room." Erico said taking my hand. I smiled at him as we were led to the private section of the hospital.
People were glancing at us, especially the boys, Erico, Paolo, Mario and Giovanni. They were whispering, but we ignored them as we skipped towards the room.
We arrived at a big white door, written on it with gold, 'private room'. Erico opened the door, and in the middle of the room, there was a hospital bed with Vincenzo laying on it. At the corner of the room, there was a small bed for the visitor. A big table with a TV on it was in front of the hospital bed.
"Never in my life I seen Vincenzo like that." Gio sitting on one of the chairs in the room.
"Me too." Mario said joining Gio.
"I will be staying with Vincenzo." I said standing next to the window.
Paolo smirked and looked at me. I rolled my eyes at him.
"Do you want me stay with you?" Tracy asked.
"Nope. I am fine." I said. "I will go down to the cafeteria." I announced, but no one was paying attention.
I exited the room and headed to the cafeteria. I then remembered that I don't know where it is.
"Excuse me." I said to a man standing. "Where is the cafeteria?" I asked.
"It is outside, next to the garden. You can take the long hall, or you can pass the garden and reach it." He smiled giving me the directions.
"Okay thank you." I decided to go through the garden. I need some fresh air.
I left the hospital doors and walked into the garden and looked at the end of it to see the cafeteria. I was connected to the hospital by a big hallway.
I entered the cafeteria and ordered coffee. I waited for my order next to the counter and looked outside.
A man caught my eye. He was wearing black clothes, a black Hoodia and he was putting the cap on his head. I froze when our eyes locked. Maybe I should leave back upstairs.
"Order number 266." I sighed in relief.
"Thank you." I thanked the waitress and took the coffee from her.
This time I am taking the hallway for sure. He caught m running and started running behind me. I kept increasing my pace and looking back. I won't stop, my life was at its stake. I am not ready to die. Vincenzo would kill me if I die.
I slammed into a chest and screamed. I looked up to see Milanio.
"Miss Violet! Where have you been? You went outside unprotected?" He glared at me.
"Sorry." I said breathlessly.
"Why are you shivering? Did something happen?" He asked.
"Yes a man was f–following me." I said.
"Shit. Valeriano, take Miss Violet to the boss' room. I will take care of this man." He said running towards the cafeteria, with 5 men with him.
"Come miss Violet." Valeriano said I nodded and followed him.
Once there he nodded at me and I thanked him for opening the door. I froze at the sight in front of me.
Erico and Paolo were pacing the room, Mario was on his phone and Gio was talking with Tracy with a glare.
I coughed and they all turned towards me.
"Violet! Where have you been!" Erico yelled.
He was the calm one of them, what is wrong?
"I was in the cafeteria." I said showing them my coffee, which was half spilled on my already bloodied shirt. I looked like shit.
"Violet!" A voice growled. My eyes widened and looked towards the bed.
"Vincenzo?"
