FROM the moment Marie took Benny into her household, Zero and Fezco were inseparable.

While Zero was only 5, Fezco was only one year older and met when Marie had started to take him into custody.

Fez didn't really have many memories of his mother but his father was the owner of a strip club and expected his son to follow his footsteps.

Though, the two boys were so young they took the responsibility of being the oldest within the household.

"What do you think is wrong with her?" A six year old Fez asked Zero.

The two stared at a crying three year old Sevyn, who sat in the playpen.

Zero stared at his sister before coming up with an answer. "Maybe she just needs a hug."

From a young age, Zero knew that he was Sevyn's protector.

"I know this feels like we're starting over...but it was for your guy's safety." Benny explained while laying down Zero in the Gain's siblings bedroom.

"When's mommy coming back?"

Benny took a deep breath. "Mommy's a lil sick right now Zero...but when she's better she'll be back to give you the biggest hug ever."

Deep down, Benny didn't know where Alana was or when she was coming back. He made sure to communicate with her where they were located and safe but never got an answer unfortunately.

The only thing that probably mattered to their mother was when she was getting her next round of substances.

Benny continued to pack up and sell product that came from Marie now and lost all contact with Mouse the night he left his house. He sent a message that he appreciated the help and somewhat guidance, but he couldn't keep his kids there anymore.

The difference between Mouse and Marie was that she cared. There was multiple times when Benny's stomach turned from the idea of drugs being left on the floor and bathroom counters where his kids could get to. Marie wasn't stupid, she was smarter than the tattooed dealer.

"So you wanna open a tattoo shop?" Marie asked one night while the two adults packed up product.

The two Gain's children were sleeping and Fez had went back to his father's, since he still was trying to be a good father.

Key word: trying.

"Yeah...been one of my goals for a while. I'm somewhat close, just gotta get my shop approved for the public and I'm good." He smiled.

Tattooing was his form of comfort throughout the latest chapter of his life. When looking for guidance, he turned to his art and felt his mother's and nana's presence around him.

Marie smiled. "You're gonna do great kid."

Four years later, Benny had his tattoo shop for two years now, both kids started school, and Alana was nowhere to be found.
