THE knuckles on Sevyn's hands began to turn white as she gripped the steering wheel.
She could still hear the loud sobs that came from Maddy on the other side of the phone.
"Hey baby-"
"Sevyn." Maddy sniffled while wiping the heavy flow of tears running down her cheeks as she looked in the mirror.
The girl knew that obviously Nate was mad at her for talking to his mother like that but deep down Maddy didn't care. Unfortunately, this was the consequence for speaking her mind.
Yes, Nate was mentally abusing but he had never put his hands on the Perez girl.
"Maddy, whats wrong?" Sevyn answered and sat up in her seat.
"Sevyn- please- just please can you come over?" Maddy sobbed.
"I'm on my way, dont hang up."
The curly haired girl was now walking up to the Perez's home, texting Maddy to open the door if she can.
As the door opened, Sevyn felt Maddy stuff her face into her hoodie.
"Cmon, let's go to your room 'n not wake pops up." Sevyn whispered.
Maddy nodded, not daring to lift up her face to see the bruises on her delicate skin.
The two walked upstairs to her room in silence. Only the sound of Sevyn's shoes were heard but Maddy felt like her heartbeat was beginning to get louder and louder.
Maddy didn't turn the lights on while walking into her bedroom and instantly went to the bed and hid under the covers. Sevyn furrowed her brows as she realized Maddy hasn't said a word since she called her.
After taking the shoes off the older girl's feet, she turned on the fairy lights in Maddy's room.
"Baby..." Sevyn started in a whisper before going to sit next to Maddy and rubbed her back. "Mad's, I'm not sure when you'll be able to talk and I respect that. Just know Im here for you baby..."
Maddy felt her lover's lips touch the top of her head and cuddled into her before beginning to fall asleep.
Sevyn stayed up to keep an eye on Maddy and also because she wasnt tried yet, so she scrolled through her phone quietly.
Maddy's childlike giggles echoed through the night sky as Nate pulled her behind a random trailer.
This is all she wanted; to get under Nate's skin and seek revenge. He had put her through so much shit and embarrassing him by speaking up to defend herself made Maddy smile. She had all she wanted- Sevyn.
Unfortunately, Nate didn't like the idea of that and this was his last straw. Maddy was his possession.
"I'm not gonna let you embarrass me like that again. I swear to fucking god." Nate gritted his teeth as his grip tightened on Maddy's arm.
"Like I give a fuck." The girl continued to laugh.
"Shut the fuck up! I'm fucking done with you! I'm so fucking done with you."
"So what else is new?"
"I'm not fucking joking." Nate warned her as they continued go walk farther and farther away from the carnival crowd.
"Yeah fucking right!" Maddy continued to laugh, feeling the drugs pump through her veins.
The two made a sharp turn as they continued to walk farther away from anyone's eyesight.
Honestly, Maddy barely knew where she was or bothered to look at her surroundings or text Sevyn for help.
"Calling my mom a cunt? what the fuck is actually wrong with your brain?!" Nate yelled.
"I think you're overreacting." Maddy smiled at him before she felt the air leave her lungs and her back hit the trailer harshly.
Nate wrapped his hand around the shorter girl's throat.
"You're fucking dead to me." He whispered into her face.
"Fuck you. I'm glad I fucking left when I had the chance. Sevyn has done more than you ever have-" Maddy whimpered out.
A stinging sensation was now felt on Maddy's cheek before Nate continued to choke her.
Maddy thought she had revenge, but in that moment Nate wanted more than that. He wanted to ruin Sevyn by taking something important to her.
"Fuck you!" Nate spit and let go of the younger girl's throat, watching her drop to the ground.
"I-I do have one question though." Maddy whispered out.
"What?"
"How's it feel to know I'll never be yours again." She smirked.
Nate's brows furrowed as she watched him walk closer to her once again.
"Maddy." A voice whispered out.
His hands continued to beat the Perez girl, leaving more than battle wounds across her entire body.
"Mads- baby wake up." The voice said again as Maddy felt her eyes squeezing shut.
Please let it stop. Maddy cried to herself as the heartbeat within her chest beat louder than a drum.
"Maddy, wake up."
"Stop!" Maddy sobbed while shooting up out of Sevyn's hold.
Sevyn wrapped her arms around Maddy's hold as she finally got the girl to wake up. The smaller girl continued to shake in Sevyn's hold, struggling to find a breath.
"I-I cant breathe- help." Maddy begged.
Sevyn took her lover's hand and sat it on top of where her heart was. "Try to get your heart to match mine." She said while continuing to brush her fingers through Maddy's hair.
"Did you wanna talk about it?" Sevyn whispered, breaking the silence.
"No...not yet..." Maddy mumbled, burying her face into the other girl's chest.
"That's okay baby, we dont have to...whenever you're ready, I'll listen." She kissed Maddy's forehead.
The two continued to sit in silence beside the comforting words coming from Sevyn's lips.
She didn't know what was going on with the Perez girl to become this shaken up, but she was going to find out.
Maddy on the other hand couldn't stop replaying the scenes of Nate kicking her on the ground and taking his frustrations out on her.
Deep down she knew that she would be save with Sevyn, she would never lay her hands on the girl and Maddy knew that.
Maddy just wished this whole thing would just be a dream.
