IF you asked a child what they wanted to be these days, you would get your typical answers from them.

Although, when Sevyn got asked those questions she wasn't really sure what to write on her assignment.

Having a stable family was truly all she ever wanted. Growing up, the little girl witnessed her parents getting into arguments while switching off for the weekends. It had never gotten bad till one morning Sevyn's mother came to pick her up and never returned for the drop off.

Not only was Benny separated from his youngest child, Zero had to learn how to live without having Sevyn around.

From the age of five to six Sevyn witnessed her mother forget her self worth.

If there was one quote that she memorized from her mother it was; "Never end up like me."

The Gain's girl never knew what happened to the lady when she was dropped back off at Benny's doorstep, cold and confused.

Sevyn thought about it everyday.

So, when it came to what she wanted to be after graduation- her answer was simply, "I don't know."

The one thing she did know was that Maddy was her person.

"You okay?" Maddy spoke, rubbing her thumb across her lovers cheek.

The two were now sat in Sevyn's car as she rolled a blunt. A random Summer Walker song played quietly in the background mixed with the night rain.

"Yeah...are you?" Sevyn smiled slightly at Maddy's touch.

Smoking together was never one of their activities, but after a long day at the police station it was needed.

The screams that came from Maddy wanted to make Sevyn sick.

"No. Get the fuck away from me. Now!" Maddy yelled at the investigator with the camera in her hands.

"Maddy, they just wanna see the evidence..." Sevyn said carefully.

The Perez girl's current state reminded Sevyn of her mother. One wrong move and she'll snap.

Maddy looked at Sevyn before looking back at the officer.

"If you do that, then you can leave sweetie." The older lady told Maddy, who cried in Sevyn's arms the whole time.

The smoke poured from Maddy's lips. "Yeah...I think I'll be okay."

Both of them came from a toxic household. On one hand one family chose to stay together despite not loving each other, and the other abandoned each other.

Maddy knew what was to come with pressing charges on someone who came from the richer family. Deep down she knew there was no way to win.

He was Nate fucking Jacobs for fucks sake.
