It was around 3pm, you were sat in your office, your eyes were skimming through contracts until you heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." You said, your gaze not leaving your work. The door opened and The Knave walked in, sitting opposite you crossing her legs.
"La Ruffiana, I have heard that you have a new student?" She smiles.
You look up at her, pushing your paperwork to the side, "Yeah I do."
"I have also heard you want someone to spar with him, I will gladly do so."
"Great, but it's not sparring though, it's different."
"Oh? Enlighten me." She raises an eyebrow.
"I want to see his true strength, what he can truly do. He is hoping to rise through to rank and become a Harbinger. So what I would like you to do is kind of just mess with him, dodge every single one of his attacks but don't attack him. He will get frustrated and show his true power, he is much more powerful than he looks. I can tell.."
"Oh? You believe he's powerful? That's a first, I'm excited to see how this turns out then. But you say he wants to become a Harbinger? He just joined."
"I believe that he has exactly what it takes to become one, he possesses strength and has a desire to battle. He would be an extremely valuable asset to the Fatui."
"You always think about the Fatui first, think about feelings for once. Would he be able to handle this? Would you be able to handle the fact you have changed a 16 year old for life?" She questions.
You knew she wasn't trying to be rude about it and was just looking out for you as a person and for him, but you didn't like the fact she could easily read your emotions.
You crossed your arms, "Actually I believe he can handle this transition, he has true potential!"
"But as y/n, do you think he is ready? Don't you think it will.. mess with him?"
You sighed, "Arlecchino you somehow always get my true feelings out. He has the potential to become a Harbinger, but I'm scared for him, it's a big responsibility and there is no going back when you take on such a big role at such a young age. You can't just quit the Fatui and everybody knows that. I'm scared for him, it's going to ruin his life, he doesn't deserve a future like this. He should at least be waiting until he's 18 to make such a big choice."
"I know where you're coming from, sometimes I think the same about the children of the House Of The Hearth. They also don't deserve such a massive responsibility, especially Lyney, he knows deep down that he is going to become the next 4th Harbinger after me." She sighed.
