"Of course, let's go somewhere much more private, yeah?" You nodded, smiling slightly.

He sighed, following you to a much more private location, which happened to be your hotel room.

Childe struggled keeping in his anger the walk back to the hotel, all he wanted to do is say something about what happened at Northland bank, but he simply couldn't, he didn't want to make a scene on the street.

Once you arrived back to the hotel room, you sat at the bottom of the bed, waiting for Childe to begin speaking.

He was pissed, to say the least, as he slammed the door shut behind him, the click of the lock echoed loudly in the room. The silence was deafening before he finally spoke.

"You knew this entire time?" He asked, his gaze was cold and piercing as he made his way towards you. Even under his usual carefree demeanor, there was that hint of annoyance in his tone.

"I'm sorry Childe."

He let out a dry chuckle as he stood close in front of you, towering over you, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Sorry? Is that all you have to say for yourself?" He shook his head almost in disbelief but then again, the feeling of disappointment was strong.

"I don't even know where to start... why wouldn't you tell me? I'm part of the Fatui as well you know? You could have at least told me that there was a contract for the gnosis! I had to do so much to get that goddamn gnosis, and you didn't even say to me yeah childe it's fine we've got it all under control?"

"I'm sorry-" You replied, getting cut off by him.

"No y/n! Sorry isn't enough, you don't even feel any remorse for me! You've practically kept me in the dark! It's like you don't trust me, I have done so much to prove that you can trust me.." His voice raised in anger, at this point he was shouting.

You flinched at the use of your real name, "I'm sorry, okay? The contract said that I wasn't allowed to tell anybody.."

"You could've at least told me you have it under control yourself! I went through so much struggle to try and get that damn gnosis. I trusted you y/n."

"You still can trust me, I'm sorry I kept you in the dark about this all."

He lets out a dry laugh, his arms falling to his sides. "I can trust you, can I? How can I even trust you after you've hidden something this huge from me? I would've at least felt a little better if you just told me that you have it under control, so I didn't have to do all that, but you didn't say anything, even a tiny bit! You let me make a fool of myself.."

"Childe, I didn't have a choice, okay? You would've done the exact same if you were in my position! I did this for you, and for the future of Liyue...." Your voice went quiet towards the end of your words.

"What..? What on Teyvat do you mean? For me? For the future of Liyue??"

"Look.. I'm sorry. I just-" You didn't bother finishing your sentence, you knew you weren't allowed to say anything else.

You never wanted what happened to Ajax to happen to anybody else, and you knew it wasn't a topic to bring up. So you didn't.

His blue eyes darkened at that, a frown on his face.

He was hesitating somewhat as his voice became quieter, but he didn't look away from you. "It still hurts that you couldn't even say one word about it.."

"I'm sorry Childe."

The expression on his face turned into sadness as he turns around, walking towards the door. "I think we need some time apart La Ruffiana. Farewell."

"Childe!" You shouted for him to come back, your voice wasn't angry though. Your voice breaking at his words.

He continued walking closer to the door, his hand on the door handle, twisting it as he left.

As the door slammed closed, you inhaled sharply, sitting back down onto the bed, your hands gripping onto the sheets.

You glanced over, eyes scanning the bed, the bed you both slept in that morning. The bed you both couldn't get out of that morning.

A few tears escaped your eyes, cascading down your cheeks.

The first time you had cried in years.

You stood up from the bed, leaving the room and climbing up to sit on the rooftop of the hotel.

You couldn't bear to sit in that hotel room, where you had spent multiple of the previous nights alongside him.

Childe- No, Ajax.

Ajax, kept crossing your mind. Thinking about what you did made you sick.

You felt sick to your stomach, you wanted to throw up, your insides were turning inside your stomach.

You cried till you were gagging, mascara staining your cheeks.

You wished Childe- Ajax, was here. To hug you, wrap his warm arms around you and tell you, it's okay, you did what you had to do for your own reasons.

Yet you knew that wasn't possible, because you had messed up.
