CHAPTER 7: TRAGIC

Beauty's POV

"Hay! sarap ng tulog ko!" I stretched my whole body.

"It's a beautiful morning, everyone!" I said while continuing to stretch.

I checked my phone. OMG! It's already 6:00. I quickly took a shower and got dressed. I wrapped a towel around my hair and applied lotion to my body.

"Besh, andiyan ka pa ba?" I heard Darlene call from outside.

I opened the door. It was Darlene. "Good morning, bestie!" she greeted me and gave me a beso.

"Good morning," I replied. She immediately came inside and sat on the sofa.

"Besh, bilisan mo na, mali-late na tayo" she said while grabbing my lotion and applying it to her hands and feet.

"Bakit hindi ka pa dumiretso sa office?" I asked while combing my long hair.

"Besh, tips aid akech! may babayaran sa school nila ang youngest brother ko. Alam mo naman, bread winner ang lola mo. Kaya ito tipid tipid din pag may time"

"Ugh, is it your brother who's studying engineering?"

"Yup, graduating na kasi kaya maraming gastusin"

"Do you need money? I'll give you some, how much do you need?"

"Wag na besh, baka sabihin pa nila kinakaibigan kita dahil sa pera".

"And who would say that?"

Darlene looked at the watch on her wrist. "OMG! Bestie, late na tayo!" she said, standing up quickly.

"Bestie, we have a problem," I said calmly, touching my forehead.

"What?" she asked in surprise.

"My car hasn't been returned by CJ yet."

"What? Bakit nasa kanya ang car mo?"

"I lent it to him yesterday."

"Pa'no na 'yan? Nagpunta pa naman ako dito para makisabay sa'yo."

Suddenly, a car honked outside. "Beauty! Yohoo! Are you still there?" someone called out from outside. It was CJ who had arrived. He got out of the car.

Darlene and I went out to meet him. "Let's go, ladies," he said, waving at us.

"Hoy, lalaki!" Darlene said. "Ba't ngayon ka lang, alam mo bang mali-late na kami?"

CJ got out of the car and leaned his elbow on the top. "Sorry na po madam, may inasikaso pa po kasi 'ko sa bahay," he said.

"Asushushushu!" Darlene muttered in annoyance.

"Wag na kayong mag-away, let's go inside na lang" I said as I got into the car and started the engine.

"Are you getting in or just going to keep arguing?" I asked, looking out the car window.

CJ and Darlene both rushed to get in. They were both holding onto the door on the driver's side.

"Ako ang nauna" Darlene said.

"Ako kaya" CJ said, giving Darlene a sharp look.

Darlene rolled her eyes and just sat in the back, while CJ sat next to me.

ON THE ROAD

Darlene was wearing headphones, feeling the music and even singing along. Meanwhile, I kept driving, feeling a bit awkward around CJ, so I stayed quiet and didn't look at him. CJ was just staring at the cars passing by.
