If you want to skip this chapter because of the TW, at least scroll down/swipe to the image near the end of the chapter (not the one at the end of the chapter, that's an art I did-) and read the bit before and after.  It's important to the bigger parts of the story :)

As I expected, I gained consciousness in a dream state, but this time, I was not on top of a freakishly tall building.

Instead, I was laid upon a very uncomfortable bed. It hurt my back.

I sat up, noting that I was once again my human self. What made me pale, though, was the heavy chain connected to the end of the bed, trailing up along to a cuff around my ankle.

I swallowed thickly, trembling slightly. What in the world was I dreaming about now...?

I looked around the small room I was in, seeing nothing of particular interest except a door. Not that I'd be able to leave in this current state.

The chain was long enough that I could get up and search around the closet-like room, but again, there wasn't anything I could use to free myself.

It was pretty dark in the room. Faint light trailed in from under the door, illuminating the outline of the room, so I knew how big it was. It barely fit the bed I was sitting on.

I could reach the door...but quietly turning it revealed that it was locked.

"Nightmare? Are you there?" I whispered, feeling afraid to even raise my voice.

A cyan glow suddenly illuminated the room, startling me as the bright eye of Nightmare appeared in the corner, watching me with interest. "Now where are we, human? "

"Eclipse...it's Eclipse." I muttered. "And I don't know. I thought you might."

He shook his head. "This is your dreamscape, not mine. I barely have the ability to manifest in dreams, much less control them. If this was the past, I could control it, among other things, but for now, I'm merely an observer."

"For now? Does that mean you'll gain strength to have more power?"

"No. Like I've said, I'm just an essence at this point. You're the dominant soul now."

I sighed softly, sitting on the uncomfortable bed with a wince. The chain clinked lightly as the bed gave a soft squeak. For some reason, I was afraid to make noise.

"My love, I believe the BRAT is awake..." A muffled voice called eerily from beyond the door. My breathing picked up slightly. Something about that voice triggered fear in me.

The door handle jiggled slightly as the lock was undone. The door opened, making me squint at the bright light coming through. Two figures stood in the doorway, though their features were distorted. At best, I could tell one was male and one was female. Both adults. Other than that, I couldn't tell who they were.

"You ARE awake! Excellent...come along, b*tch, we're going shopping. You want food, don'tcha?" The female mocked, coming a little closer.

I subconsciously shrunk away, but I felt inclined to listen at the same time. Who were these people...? Surely they couldn't be my parents...weren't parents supposed to care about their children...?

Nightmare watched with continued interest, though he said nothing.

The male figure stumbled over slightly, and I could smell something sharp coming from him as he approached. Alcohol?
