The masquerade ball at Xara for all royals. young and old. I was 10 at the time but I was almost 11.
That day was my father's last straw and the last day I slept at home.  My brother claimed I was too scared to go up and look down out of the window of the tower and that he could beat me up the stairs.
"Wanna bet?!"
I rushed up the stairs with Calix and my brother behind me.

"Haha, I beat you!" I rubbed it in their face.
Calix walked past me and stood on the bricked window covered in vines. "Guys, look at how high up we are!"
My brother slammed his shoulder against mine
"We can't because your butt is in the way"

I watched Calix closely and saw he was holding onto a vine.
"you should get down from there you might fall." I glance at my brother getting a ball from off the shelf.
"No way! The view is awesome from here."
"Well, I can't say the same thing." He snickers.

I glared at my brother and he held a ball in his hands.  "Eythora, catch!" He walks backward and bumps into Calix And he slips. His screams exploded into my ear.

I always took the blame for my brother. People were expecting more from him considering he was meant to be king.
When my father heard his yelling, he ran up the stairs.
I could feel his anger, worry and disappointment when I spoke.
"I pushed Calix." My father's eyes glowed. "Pack up your stuff. " immediately I knew why.

His mother shed a tear, it wasn't shocking considering he was her only son and she had no husband.
I killed Prince Calix. If that is not enough to be banished to one of the worst places in the world then I don't know what is.

I packed my bags with as much stuff as possible and I bit my lip. The feeling of my heart racing makes me grab my chest. I fought for oxygen Then I heard the door creak open.

I turn and see Phoebe. A woman who has been my maid since I can remember. My heart was still slightly racing. "I will be going with you." She said holding her bag. "Your father doesn't want you to go alone."
I looked away from her and grabbed my bag. "How very kind of him," I said sarcastically walking right past her and right down the curved staircase.
When I got to the bottom I collided into someone dropping my bags.

"Watch where you are going!" he said in an accent I could hardly understand. He is not from here. His hair was black as the night sky, and the way he spoke. His eyes are like rubies.

His clothes were fancy but not something you can find around here. Not something I have ever seen. My maid picked up my Bag for me. My shoulder crashed into his and it threw him off balance. He looked back at me and I glanced at him from the corner of my eye.

I stepped into my carriage and Phoebe spoke up.
"He was quite handsome, wasn't he?"  I nodded
"Whatever suits your taste, Phoebe." She lightly shoves me. "Not for me! He is not my type, too young."
"You think we would look good together?" I said with a light blush. She nodded. "He is a prince too."
I nodded and the blush still had not faded. His eyes were really pretty but my first impression of his personality was crap. I wonder how Xavier is.

I walked down to the bottom of the window and I saw him. I look down at my feet and hold a shovel in my hand. Stupid dad. I turned around about to walk away.
Not bothering to Bury him but offered the task to someone else who was late when I heard someone. "Oww."
His arm starts to move around and he sits up rubbing his head. He looked up at me. My eyes were wide. "Xavier?" My face gets all twisted.
"You're alive?" He has a big wound on his head and a bruise on his arm. A smile crept up my face.
Eythora was already long gone.

"It's too late Felix. Everyone thinks you're dead and Eythora is gone." I informed him.
"I don't understand." I've never been in a better position.
"What I mean is Felix is dead. Eythora killed Felix."
His lips slightly parted.

"I don't need Eythora getting in my way. She will be spending her time elsewhere. Felix will remain dead. Take this for all your worries."
I toss a good amount of money in front of him.
"I suggest you get out of town. Change your name, get onto a boat maybe?" Calix opens the bag of money. Enough money to last a lifetime.
"You got yourself a deal." he stood up slowly.
