I stepped on a twig, and I looked behind me to see if anyone was following me. I am slightly tempted to eat the cupcakes in my picnic basket.

I put my hood up and continued walking in the woods until I saw a cabin. I walked around the lake and I noticed a tombstone. I walk up to the front door and knock on the door lightly. someone taller than me opens the door. I was slightly confused about who this person was but then it hit me.
"What?" he raised his eyebrow.

"I am here to speak to you, Ryker. I am your cousin on my mother's side."
"I have a cousin? I don't remember having a cousin."
"My mom and your mom weren't that close after she got married. She had to move."
I look at his armor from the looks of it. He is a commander.

"I see, please come inside. " he opens the door slightly more. I step inside under the wooden roof. I look at the old woman in the rocking chair. "Nana, we have a visitor who claims to be my cousin." He puts his hand on her shoulder. "What is your name, dearie?"
She asked me. I debated in my head if I should tell them my name or not.
"Eythora graves is my real name."
The woman's eyes widened, she looked like she was having war flashbacks.

"Eythora? That pretty name reminds me of someone. She is your cousin, Ryker." I sit down on a wooden bench with cushions. "You guys will be referring to me by a different name. I changed my name to Robin Gryffin, there is no need to explain to you why though.
I will be staying at a friend's place. you can visit whenever you would like. "
The woman nodded her head. It's almost like she understood how incredibly infuriating her father is.
"Where will you be staying?" "his name is Killian. He lives with the duke."
Their eyes widen. "Oh, I see." my cousin looked like his heart had stopped.
"You're mother, God bless her heart; did a very great thing for society. I can't believe your father went out of his way to put her in that place to rot." She grumbled. "Put her in that place? What do you mean by that?"

I lift one of my eyebrows. "obsidian island, where else would she be?" I froze in place. What did she just say?
"Are you saying my mother...is alive?"I looked into the eyes of the blind woman, clenching my fists.
"they told you she was dead?"
I stood up and left the basket there. I rushed out of the tiny house slamming the door.

My teeth knit together as I run far into the woods, my hood gets caught on a tree branch. I tug and tug at the end of my hood. Then it rips and I fall onto the dirt. I curl up into a ball. I saw my mom's dead body. I buried her casket her my own two hands. there is no way she is alive but what is this ominous feeling telling me that she might actually be?

I have to see it for myself. A shadow fell onto my face and stood up. I remember where the dock was and I managed to have some coins on me. The idea was insane going to an island where the most dangerous criminals are locked away. My mother wasn't a criminal and I am going to prove it.

I rushed though the market and to the dock my foot
Sank in the sand. I looked at all the boats on the wooden dock and things got better when I saw the fishermen that saved my life. I look up at the metal boat. I hate to ask this of them.
"Hey, could you take me to obsidian island? It's not too far." The captain with his hat and his long beard looks at me. "Oo, I know you missy. I am afraid I can't. There is a huge storm coming in. I don't wanna put my crew in danger." I look at the dark clouds. "Oh well thanks anyways."
My feet charged to the next boat, a wooden one.

I see a woman with white hair step off the boat carrying a wooden barrel. "Do you think you could take me to obsidian island?" She looks at me like she might have seen me before. I hold out some coins. "I'll pay you." She puts her barrel down and takes the coins. Gold coins. "There is a storm coming in, you and my crew could get hurt. Lucky for you I have a strong crew." She said with a cigarette in her mouth. She gestured for me to hop onto the ship.

The boat seemed familiar.
