present day. 5:13 pm.Karianah, Ariel, Mariah, and Summer are in the same room for the first time since the group split. The atmosphere is thick with unresolved tension, especially when Camille's name is mentioned. The conversation triggers Karianah's memories of the group's downfall.
Karianah sat quietly, her gaze fixed on the untouched cup of water in front of her. The café was buzzing with activity, but at their table, an uneasy silence had settled. Ariel, Mariah, and Summer were there, but it was as if a ghost had joined them—the ghost of Camille, who was not physically present but whose actions still haunted them all.
"Do you ever think about those days?" Summer asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Karianah's throat tightened. "Sometimes," she admitted. "It's hard not to."
Mariah shifted uncomfortably in her seat, glancing at Ariel, who was staring out the window. "We were so close once," Mariah said, her tone tinged with both nostalgia and bitterness.
Ariel finally spoke, her voice sharp. "Until Camille decided she was better off alone."
The mention of Camille's name brought a wave of memories crashing over Karianah, pulling her back to the days when they were all together, and everything started to fall apart.
1 year ago. 📍 Soulful Records Studios.
The studio was buzzing with energy, the four girls rehearsing late into the night. Their harmonies were tight, their choreography on point. Camille, as always, was front and center, her voice carrying the lead. But as the rehearsal wore on, something shifted.
"Can we take it from the top?" Camille asked, not waiting for a response as she adjusted her microphone.
Mariah sighed, exchanging a look with Karianah. "We've already done it a dozen times, Camille. We need to move on to the next track."
Camille shot her a glance that was both cold and dismissive. "We need to get it perfect, Mariah. Some of us actually care about this."
Karianah felt the sting of Camille's words, but before she could say anything, Ariel stepped in. "We all care, Camille. But we're supposed to be a group, remember? We need to work together."
Camille's smile was anything but warm. "Then maybe some of you should work a little harder."
The tension in the room was palpable, but they pushed through, finishing the rehearsal. As they packed up, Camille lingered, her eyes fixed on her phone. Karianah caught a glimpse of a message from someone she recognized all too well—her boyfriend.
