The café on 5th and Main was one of those charming, tucked-away spots in the city, where the scent of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the chatter of patrons. Karianah walked in, her heart pounding slightly faster than usual. She scanned the room, and there she was—Camille, seated at a corner table, stirring her coffee absentmindedly.

Karianah took a deep breath and made her way over. She noticed Camille look up, her expression unreadable, as Karianah approached.

"Hey," Karianah said, keeping her voice even as she pulled out the chair opposite Camille.

"Hey," Camille replied, offering a small, strained smile. "Thanks for meeting me."

Karianah nodded, settling into her seat. "What did you want to talk about?"

Camille paused for a moment, her fingers stilling around her coffee cup. "I know things have been... tense between us, especially with everything that's happened. I wanted to clear the air."

Karianah studied her, wary. "Okay. I'm listening."

"It actually seems like she's being genuine," Karianah thought, her skepticism held at bay for the moment. Camille spoke about how difficult it had been after the group split up and how she regretted how things ended.

"I miss how close we all were," Camille said, her voice soft. "I know I made some mistakes, but I never meant for things to get this bad."

Karianah nodded slightly, her anger simmering beneath the surface. She was about to respond when Camille's tone shifted, her eyes narrowing slightly.

"But there's something else I need to address," Camille continued, her voice growing sharper. "I've heard rumors, Karianah. Rumors about me being a homewrecker, about how I supposedly 'stole' Keith from you?"

Karianah's eyes widened, her heart skipping a beat. "Excuse me?"

"You heard me," Camille snapped, leaning forward. "People are saying that I'm the reason you and Keith broke up, that I went behind your back and slept with him."

Karianah felt a surge of anger. "Well, isn't that what happened?" she shot back. "You were always flirting with him, always trying to get his attention. And don't act like you didn't know what you were doing."

Camille's expression hardened. "Don't try to play innocent, Karianah. You're the one who couldn't keep your man. If he left you for me, that's on you."

Karianah felt the blood drain from her face, then rush back up as her anger boiled over. "How dare you," she hissed, her voice shaking. "You've been after him for years, Camille. You knew exactly what you were doing, and you didn't care about who you hurt."
