Winter had settled in, and the air felt refreshing as Karianah adjusted to her new life as an independent artist. It had been hard at first—being kicked off Wicked Storm Entertainment felt like a gut punch. But now, weeks later, she was finding peace. The sadness had lessened, and she was embracing her freedom, even if there were moments when a pang of disappointment would hit her out of nowhere. She had thrown herself into her music, her relationships with her friends and family, and, of course, her growing bond with Jordan.

However, there was one thing she couldn't shake: for the past few days, she had been feeling sick, specifically a queasiness that came and went in waves. She brushed it off as allergies or stress, refusing to worry too much. Right now, she had bigger things to focus on—like Christmas shopping.

It was a week before Christmas, and the ladies were all doing some last-minute shopping together. They moved from store to store, arms full of bags, excitement building as they ticked off items from their lists.

As they left one of the shops, arms loaded with gifts, they suddenly spotted Sophia and her group of friends up ahead, coming from the opposite direction. Karianah's stomach clenched, her instinctive reaction to avoid any drama kicking in. The last thing she needed was an encounter with Sophia, especially when the girl seemed to feed off conflict.

"Keep walking," Ayesha whispered, reading the tension in Karianah body. "We're not doing this today."

Karianah nodded, deciding to ignore Sophia and her friends. But as they approached, Sophia smirked, clearly ready to stir the pot. She stepped into their path, making it impossible to avoid her.

"Well, well, well," Sophia drawled, her voice dripping with fake sweetness. "How's life treating you, Karianah?"

Karianah took a deep breath, willing herself to remain calm. She wasn't about to give Sophia the satisfaction of seeing her angry. Instead, she kept walking, doing her best to act as if Sophia's words hadn't even registered.

But Sophia wasn't going to let it go. She threw out another taunt, louder this time. "You know, it's kind of funny seeing you out here like this, Kari. You're basically a bum now, right? Kicked off Wicked Storm? How's that feel?" She laughed, her friends giggling behind her.

Karianah jaw tightened, her fists clenching at her sides. Ayesha and Summer immediately moved in closer, sensing the shift in her posture.

"And let's be real," Sophia continued, her voice full of malice. "Jordan's going to come crawling back to me once he realizes you're nothing without that label. You're not enough for him."

That was the final straw. Karianah whipped around, her eyes blazing. "Oh, you didn't learn from the first time I had to beat ya ass, huh? You must want another reminder." She took a step forward, but her friends quickly jumped in to pull her back.

"Kari, no," Mariah said, grabbing her arm. "She's not worth it... and you're too pretty for jail."

Alicia stepped in front of Karianah, blocking her path. "Let's not do this here. She's just trying to get under your skin."
