Olivia Potter. The Innocent Child. July 31st, 2007. The day she ran away, slipping through the shadows of Potter Manor, her absence unnoticed amidst the celebrations for her twin brother, Harry. Forgotten and alone, Olivia left behind a life where s...
The screen brightened, revealing a vast city enclosed by a towering wall, its metallic surface catching the light of a setting sun. A gentle wind rustled through the desolate streets, and a young girl's voice began to narrate over the scene.
"We're lucky to be in The City. They say the war was terrible. That the rest of the world was destroyed." The camera panned over the skyline, where modern buildings rose against the horizon, interspersed with small, humble homes. People moved through the streets with purpose, their clothing marked by distinct colors and styles, each signifying something unique. "Our founders built the wall to keep us safe and divided us into five groups - factions - to keep the peace."
Some recognize the voice and some don't, but no-one says anything.
"The smart ones, the ones who value knowledge and logic, are in Erudite. They know everything." The scene shifted to show people in blue robes, hunched over microscopes and computers, their expressions focused and intense. A few whispered to each other, eyes flicking over charts and notes.
"Amity farm the land. They're all about kindness and harmony, always happy." The screen moved to a sprawling field, where people in red and yellow worked side by side, laughter and chatter filling the air as they harvested crops. A sense of warmth and peace radiated from them.
"Candor value honesty and order. They tell the truth, even when you wish they wouldn't." A large group of people is shown, dressed in black and white as they debate, their expressions earnest. Their eyes were sharp, and their voices were loud - confident in their beliefs.
"And then there's Dauntless. They're our protectors, our soldiers, our police. I always thought they were amazing." A roar of excitement filled the screen as young men and women, clad in black, ran through the streets, climbing up buildings and laughing with each other. "Brave, fearless, and free." They radiated energy, their faces alight with daring grins. "Some people think Dauntless are crazy, which they kind of are." The camera caught a group of Dauntless members on top of a tall building, laughing wildly, pushing each other playfully, their adrenaline palpable.
"They look cool, I want to do that!" Says Ginny Weasley, who many know to be a person to do the impulsive things to exist
"Come on, Olivia!" Said a man dressed in grey to a young girl. Olivia appeared on screen, her blonde hair pulled back, wearing a simple gray tunic. She hesitated, looking over her shoulder one last time before joining a group dressed in gray.
The first glimpse of young Olivia appeared, her eyes reflecting both curiosity and uncertainty as she narrated about the factions.
Harry's breath hitched. There she was - his sister. For the first time, he was seeing her in almost 9 years. His heart clenched with a mixture of pride, anger, and regret. Beside him, Hermione whispered, "She looks just like you, Harry..." Her tone soft, almost in awe.
Ron, wide-eyed, leaned forward. "Blimey, that's her? I wasn't expecting this." He exchanged a glance with Harry, sensing the weight of the moment.
Even Ginny, seated nearby, blinked in surprise. "She's... so young," she said softly, her voice filled with emotion.
William watched with a sad smile, remembering their childhood together. "That's her not long after she left, I'm guessing. She's probably 10 or 11 there." William Lupin-Black revealed. Everyone was shocked at this information because most people were told that she ran away when she was at least 15, not a young innocent child. Many disgusted looks were sent towards the Potter's who pretended they hadn't seen them.
"My faction is Abnegation. The others all call us "Stiffs." We lead a simple life, selfless, dedicated to helping others." The screen showed the gray-clad people moving through the city, handing out bread to the poor and aiding those who struggled. Their faces were calm, serene, but there was a subtle sense of restraint, an unspoken code of modesty and duty in every movement. "We even feed the Factionless, the ones who don't fit in anywhere." A shot of ragged-looking individuals, eyes hollow and tired, accepting food from Abnegation members flashed by.
"Because we're public servants, we're trusted to run the government. My father works alongside our leader, Marcus." The camera focused on a tall man in gray, his expression focused , sat beside a somber-looking older man, Marcus, speaking to a crowd. "It all works. Everyone knows where they belong." The camera pans over the city. "Except for me."
The screen darkened, leaving the Great Hall in silence as Olivia's confession hung in the air, her voice filled with doubt and yearning. The Hogwarts audience sat captivated, beginning to understand the weight of the choices Olivia Potter had faced in a world far removed from their own.
